Ah, there he goes again- just like that. I stared at Michael for a while as he walked past me like he did every morning. 'who's Michael?' I can hear you asking, well let me tell you. Michael, well Michael Eastwood, school heartthrob, teacher's pet and all-around jerk well, a hottie to everyone else but a jerk to me.
Who knew someone so 'perfect' could be such an asshole. Michael and I were good friends growing up, and honestly, he changed after the second year of high school. He didn't have time to hang out, do homework or even walk home with me, which was strange as he was my neighbour, and had been since we were six years old. We were so close, in fact, the tree between our houses had a carefully hidden walkway from my window to his. It had its benefits, like the time we came home drunk after a party, which was way past my curfew, and he let me use it to get to bed before my parents realized the time. But now in college, he ignores my entire existence.
But since that one summer, I've hated him. We don't need to know why because now I have a new support system. My new friends, well Lewis and Jacob have been there since that dreadful summer. If I could say who I get along best with, I'd say, Lewis, he just understands me. Fair to say I'm happy with my new friends.

Lunch, usually the best time of the day. But ever since Lewis started going out with a random chick called Harper, it's just turned into a cringe-fest. Usually, I'd be fine with this kind of stuff but Harper just seems off to me, but if Lewis is happy that's fine, plus I'm not completely alone because I have Jacob.
Jacob and I sat next to each other on the picnic bench with Harper and Lewis opposite, Harper in Lewis' lap, both of them making cooing noises like the others a baby, the site of that was just enough to potentially put me off my food, which it did eventually. "You not eating that?" I hear Jacob ask just after I push my tray away. "no help yourself" I laugh in response as he takes the food and continues to stuff it into his mouth. A real foodie, this is why my mother loves him so much, he is basically the son she never had.
"-No you're more adorable" and there we have it, the grossest argument to ever exist. Who's more adorable. This was strike two, first the lap sitting now this. I'm going to slap them both for being so sappy if it gets to strike three, this strike was usually when she plays with his hair. I'm pretty sure Jacob could see I was about to blow from the amount of PDA we were being subjected to, so to try help he tried to strike up a conversation. "so... Hazel have you see the schools new music program?" he asked putting all of his attention into our brewing conversation. He knew I loved music and so did Lewis, so as an attempt to both distract me from the background pda and attract Lewis into the conversation away from his pda, this was his best attempt. "No.. is it supposed to be any good? the last one sucked it was all love songs, and quite frankly I'm pretty sure I'm going to die alone, so love songs aren't really my forte" I giggled.
I've never had a boyfriend and only crushed on one person, and its pretty obvious who it was, non-other than Michael Eastwood himself. It was a stupid teenage crush- when I was thirteen but it all crashed and burned on my 15th birthday, but whatever, I've moved on.

Somehow I was convinced to go out tonight with the "squad" by Jacob, he always has some sort of way to make me do things I never would necessarily do. Of course, in the end, I agreed just now we had the task of convincing my mum. Usually, if I asked she would say no but this time I had a weapon or two up my sleeve, my school report and Jacob. Like I said before, my mum loves Jacob, and if he couldn't persuade her, no one could.
jacob and I walked into my house being instantly greeted with the smell of mums cooking, usually, she cooks if she has big news, all other nights we'll order a take out and just sit talking about the day and what went on.
"mum?" I call out, waiting for a reply as we set our bags down on the hallway table. "in the kitchen" I hear her voice call back. Jacob and I walk in to be greeted by food everywhere. I thought the occasional lasagne for good news was a lot so whatever brought this spread must've been amazing news. "so what's the news" Jacob asks as we sit at the island, a smile makes its way onto my mothers face as the stands in front of us. "I've been offered a new job" she smiles putting nachos in front of us. "awesome where is it miss' Wattson?" Jacob asks digging into the nachos. "same company just different location" she trails off. What does she mean different location "where is it," I asked waiting for her to say England or somewhere insane. Since we live in Scotland I didn't expect her to say what she was going to say which was-"Miami". I felt my throat close up and I choked a little "sorry what" I asked in disbelief " I thought you would be excited! You've always wanted to go to America-" I interrupted her "yeah on holiday not to bloody live there".
I'd never been angry with my mum, in fact I've never been bad with her, since my dad left I learnt to write my emotions and feelings out and simply talk stuff out with friends or her, but this wasn't my bedroom and this wasn't being written into my diary or into lyrics. "hazel honey-" she tried to reason with me but before she finished I got up and left going outside shortly followed by Jacob giving apologetic look to my mum.
"she can't fucking do that," I say sitting on the bench in the front garden "what about you and Lewis? I can't lose you" I tear up as Jacob pulled me into his arms, a comforting embrace " yeah you can't go cuz I have so much I need to tell you" he half laughs trying to lighten the mood. I sit up and look at him "like what?" I ask smiling looking at his face in detail, he was obviously upset you could see it in the cracks on the side of his eyes and cheeks "like the fact I'm gay" he says his smile partly dropping like he was scared for my reaction. I reassured him with a smile "called it" I giggled watching as his normal happy smile appeared back on his face. "have you told your parents yet?" I asked.
See Jacobs dad was amazing like a male version of my mother, but his stepmother was a true force of nature, she was the definition of every evil stepmother from Disney. Such a bitch. "well, only dad, but if Lady Tremaine (which if you didn't know is cinderellas stepmothers name) finds out I'm gonna have to move out. shes just a tad homophobic" he sighs. "sounds like a bitch to me" a voice ahead of us said, I look up to see Lewis standing there his usual style of a black jacket, jumper and ankle length rolled jeans. I couldn't help but smile. "yeah she doesn't deserve you as her stepson anyways," my mum says from the window. Since when was she the type for hanging out windows? I giggle at the thought.
"oh and hazel-" I look up at her still slightly caught between upset and okay " I've declined the job offer... but Edinburgh is the only offer left for the sake of me having a job" she adds "you know I want the best for you so if seeing Jacob and Lewis is what you want then I will try my best to make it happen" she smiles. Who was I to make my mum lose her job?, plus Edinburgh is only over an hour away. I nodded to her as she smiled "also yes you can go out but only on one condition" she smirks, ah the catch "which is?" I ask knowing full well what it was going to be- shes cooked too much food. "you and the lads help me eat up all this food" she smiles closing the window. Called it.
