Peter's POV

"Rise and shine, backlashers! It's 5:30! Rise and shine!" I walked shouting for everybody to wake up. "It's MJ's team's turn to make breakfast today!" I kicked open the door that led to the dorm room of half of MJ's team and started to tickle the younger ones playfully. Our organization consisted 48 kids at total. Youngest being 5 and the oldest being 17 which was Wade.

"S..s. stop! Please!" Cassandra, 7 years old let out a giggle. She begged for me to stop, and her voice was loud enough to wake the others. Series of yawn echoed down the hallway making our base lively again. "Now for the rest of you it's either clean or train! For those of you who trained yesterday go with Ned and Harry to clean the base, and those of you who cleaned yesterday well, you know what to do!" I hollered making the orders clear as possible. Kids started to run up and down hallways getting to their designated place. Yelling out things like, "I overslept!" "Where'S MY SOCKS?" "HUNTER! THAT'S CHEATING!".

I climbed over to the rail of the hallway and hang there from my web, watching over everybody. We were a one big dysfunctional family, we trained we joked we studied we lived together. It was never boring. All was systematic and free at the same time. Nobody was stupid, in fact the Backlash's average IQ was as high as 142. We did better here than we would do in any other place in the world. And it wasn't like we were forever stuck in our underground base. Sometimes we would go on a mission. Or just buy groceries or cloth or whatever. We had movie theaters and sports center. This place was paradise. We all deserve this, we all deserve this because of what we've been through.

Training consisted basic fighting skills and then off to our specialties, I walked over to Wade who was teaching Hunter some advance combat moves. Hunter was 11.

"How's Hunter doing Wade?" I asked looking at the preteen in front of me. "He's awesome! He's in my list of potential pack leaders! He handles himself with punches, kicks, knives, swords, katanas, guns!" It was rare for Wade to compliment anyone let alone for him to recommend to make someone a pack leader. So Hunter really must be something.

"Well, I'll keep that in mind Wade! But for now try to train him in tactics as well." I hurriedly jogged away from Wade and the arena after saying that. I made my way down to the lab where our Brain unit work. There was Harley that was currently training the younger kids to be a hacker. Harley makes a firewall and the hackers in training work to bring it down. This process trains the trainee hackers and produce stronger firewall codings as a result.

"I'm cracked it Harley!" A cheerful voice called from across the lab, she was only 8 and she was just as good as any of the professional hackers we have here. "You did an amazing job,  Cindy!" Harley beamed a smile giving her a fist bump.

"Sup, my bro Harley! Can I borrow a few of your kids? I wanna test them to see who is capable of making a new web fluid for the new web shooter."  "Sure things! I suggest taking Jamey and El. They are the best at physics and chem.  Jamey! El! Can you come over here please? Peter wants you!" Harley called the two across the room. In a blink of an eye two kids appeared in front of them. "Yay! Peter haven't seen you around in our lab in such a long time! I missed you!" Jamey hugged Peter. El stood there and watched trying to keep his cool but ultimately fail when Peter hugs him. The truth was every single kid in the Backlash society was like brothers and sister.

Jamey and El followed me into my lab where I had a big white board with one gigantic equation that led to my web formula. "I'll give you some time, to look at this equation and solve it, this is the equation I used to make my current web. I figured if you guys are capable to solve this, you'll also be capable to make a new and improved one as well." I gave Jamey and El whiteboard markers telling them to keep on working until they're satisfied but don't forget to come down for breakfast. "You know a angry MJ isn't the most pleasant thing in this world."

I decided to make one last stop at my group's station before I headed down to the kitchen. My group consisted the gifted people of this whole organization. Ones with superpower, gifted ability to work there body better than anybody; in other words extremely acrobatic people, and ones with a great mind.

Right now my team was in a big meeting room. Talking about battle tactics and protocol installed in our base and how we can improve them. This isn't something we do everyday, in fact  I usually train them in how to control the powers. Right now though, we were in a crisis. Nobody knows about it except for my team or MJ.

"Hi Peter! Can you give us any more information on our case here? I think we have a very effective tactic or two.. but these are risky and I don't want to use these until I'm sure." Michi was the first to speak up when I sat down. She opened up a file on her tablet that appeared in everybody's tablet.  "The Avengers has been on us ever since we moved our base here, we were doing good for this 3 years but, now they have been digging deep. Ned told me that one of them, probably Stark tried to hack into our system. Which has failed very fortunately. Now to cut to the chase, we need to make aware of our situation here to all of us. By that I mean tell the younger kid as well. Now I'm not saying that we have tell them the whole truth, maybe we'll tell the truth to 10 and ups but, for those under them we can sugar coat the information."  She announced, putting authority in her voice as always. "All in favor, rise your hand." Everybody did. After that Aidan spoke up, "Why do I feel like you still have something to tell us?" He addressed Michi.

Michi's face was in grave seriousness. "I set up a new plan, an evacuation plan. This is an absolute last resort plan, but since we are in New York, it's so easy to get caught. To get caught by the mad scientists, SHIELD, Avengers and the Child Protection Program. To not repeat the occurrence that happened last time," She paused a little, and dragged a new file to our tablet.  "I'm setting up a new CODE, CODE Goodbye. I really don't want to break this to you guys so, if you could just kindly read the file to yourselves, that'll be great."

I skimmed through the file. CODE Goodbye were to be engaged when the Avengers or SHIELD found our base and sneak in without us noticing. 10 and under were gonna be evacuated through the safety pass that connected to our safe house down in the sewer. When they get there they will put on their supply bag and go escape to our next in list of our future base. Only a few select from 10 and ups where to evacuate. And it wasn't specific, it was gonna be chosen random on the day, we are attacked because if they knew that they get to evacuate it'll change their mindset on survival. It was basically fight to death code. And when me and Wade decide that we can no longer fend them off, we were to kill them with us. Each of us using our specialties to kill a specific agent, for instance Ned's team would go to the lab hack Iron Man's suit and disable them, and electrocute him.

As much as I wanted to say this CODE was ridiculous, I knew it was the decision to be made if we ever find ourselves in a situation like this. I was the first to break the silence. " As much as I wish we will never have to use this CODE, I think we should set it on our system. We'll explain to the rest of Backlash after breakfast, but now let's congratulate Michi for the hardworking and effort she put here." I clapped my hands. And my team did. Soon the room as filled with somewhat despairing round of applause.

"KAREN, set CODE Goodbye in our CODE list."
