This story is split into 10 parts, each part referencing a different section of a song known as The Carnival of the Animals by Camille Saint-Saëns.
There's 14 parts, but I cut 4 since I couldn't think of anything that would really work for them. I'm even debating whether to keep part 4 since it's short and lackluster.
1. Introduction and Royal March of the Lions:
The light shines down upon me as I get up. I have a lot planned with Hedgehog today. And nothing's going to get in the way of our plans. That's the plan at least.
"Good morning Oscar," pajamas say as I get up. "I can't wait for tomorrow." He's all excited because I promised I'd take him on an exciting adventure tomorrow.
"Yeah. But for today you gotta stay in here. And then we'll have our big adventure." It takes me no time to get changed. Then I head out and over to Hedgehog's cabin. She's just getting her shoes on as I enter.
"Almost done," she says as she sees me. I then nod. After she's done we head off to breakfast. We're the last ones in. And as we sit down, in comes Susie. She marches in like a royal lion; Alice and Betsy following behind like her royal servants.
"Alright, listen up babies," she proudly calls out to us. She's in a good mood, which normally means something bad might happen. But we all stop to listen to her. "Today's a very special day because we have set up the annual Easter Bunny Hunt!" We all give her a confused look.
"I thought it was an Easter Egg Hunt, not Easter Bunny," Lucy says aloud. We all nod in agreeance.
"It has to be magic bunnies. A couple years ago we tried this with eggs and eventually some parts of the island smelt like rotten eggs for a long time. Not all eggs were found."
"Shouldn't you 3 know where they all were since you hid them all," Max asks. A valid point on his part.
"Well, we hid them all with our magic so that we couldn't help even in we wanted, which I didn't. Anyways, participation is mandatory. You..."
"Why do we all have to join in," Oliver asks for us all as he interrupts her.
"As I was saying, it's mandatory. But you don't have to look for the magic bunnies. You can just go about your day as normal. But the winner, whoever finds the most bunnies, wins a big prize." Now a lot of us are interested. But knowing Susie the prize is going to be something like being her servant for the day or something completely ridiculous.
"We should try for first place," Hedgehog whispers to me.
"Oh, okay I guess." I wasn't expecting this. Susie's about to leave when she turns around.
"Also, you can pair up in teams of 2 to tackle this. Meet just outside after your all done so we can begin." The counselors then leave. We hurry to finish our breakfast so we can go. Hedgehog and I are teaming up for the grand prize. After maybe 20 or so minutes we're all outside.
"It seems everybody is here," Alice calls out as she looks at her clipboard. "Whoever is teaming up, hold hands and raise them up high." Alexa and Lem are the only other team. But I doubt many others are joining in. "Okay, now that we have everyone sorted, begin! 3 hours Left!" She then turns into a puff of smoke as paper rabbits flood and scurry off around the island.
2. Hens and Roosters:
The rabbits flee the scene as fast as they can, spreading out like hens and roosters pecking around for food. Everyone just stands there in shock and watches as they all hop away. We're not in shock, but at the same time are.
