Disclaimer: The first couple of pages will be short and not detailed. It wont flow smoothly as it was an unfinished final project. If I ever have the courage I might come back and recreate everything over the summer in a different POV also.

Pov 1:

My feet thudded across the green sheets of the forest, kicking up stray leaves. I could hear the distant echo of my voice carrying in the wind as I continued running through trees towards a stream bed.

"Ah!" A gasp of shock was released when my bare foot touched the icy crystalline water. The rocks lying across the floor of the stream bed felt rough against my feet, but it still reminded me of where I was; home. Jumping out of the cold water, I continued trekking through the forest to find a small hiding spot I created 4 months ago.

A huge oak tree entered my view while humming an old song my mom usually sings. This tree I claimed as my own is something I like to stash things in for when home is too far, or if you're hiding something like me.

I walked up to the roots of the tree to the rough bark with both hands. The tree creaked as I hauled myself up the tree trunk to reach a small trap door located in the middle. Making it to the door, I carefully inserted my legs one by one to avoid tripping to death and turned one of the lights I stored on.  The room dimly lit up but it was just enough for me to see little trinkets and junk strewn across the floor.  My gaze shifted up to the flowers peacefully resting near another trap door I cared out as a window.

Lilacs, peonies, hellebores, some roses and a cereus. I rushed over to them, lifting each to examine carefully in my hand.

'I hope these will be perfect for mom.'

Looking around the room once again, I turned back towards the trap door to head back down.

It didn't take long until I made it back into town. I live in a place named 'Willow Creek' somewhere in Oregon. Its nothing much here. The folks are quiet, not much other kids play outside, and there's no gatherings besides the occasional tv news when the powered are broadcasted. My mom and I have lived here my entire life— probably her before her entire life too, so I try my best even if it's not fun for me.  If we ever get to see the city, I want to see the 'gifted' humanity looks up to and protects.

"....I want to be like them..." slipped out of my mouth as I stood dazed in front of the door to a shop. It was a soft white & yellow colored store with brown accents decorating its features.

I reached my hand to grab the door but it had already opened. A tall old man with a large bushy mustache walked out with a mug in hand. He had a large scowl across his face, muttering slowly something about the news under his breath. We didn't really get a lot of news since this is a bit closed off from the city located miles away. The closest things we have are daily news or television.

Now that I think about it, I always wondered why all powered and gifted's are in other cities and towns while this one has no one like that.

The man looks down at me, still grumbling, as he shuffles past slowly. I ignored all of that to run into the store straight to the counter.

"Mom! Mom!" I yelled. A slim woman appeared from behind the counter with long, brunette hair that flowed and shimmered like silk, neat clothes, and delicate features gracing her face.

"Yes aziahi?" She spoked so softly. Her steps moving softly across the room as if the ground was too afraid to disturb her.

I walked up to her slowly then lifted the flowers up to her, "I got you a gift," Her eyes twinkled with love as she lifted me up to land a soft kiss against my cheek. I couldn't help but giggled at the ticklish feeling. "Happy birthday mommy!"

"Oh, these are for me? Such a thoughtful and giving child you are."

Her soft eyes stared down lovingly at me while slowly setting me down. With the flowers still tucked in her arms, she slowly said, "Thank you my baby."

After that, mom prepared us desserts to eat for her birthday. I really love my mom dearly, as she's the only and last family member I have.
I wish our other family were here to celebrate mommy's birthday...

Only 791 words...wow. It feels longer when trying to brainstorm what to write and how. There will be a second page to this but since I'm now writing in a real story board form and not an organizer, I have to be more detailed a bit...

Anyways, nice seeing you again!
