Natalia's dream had come true. A beautiful picnic date, under the stars on the beach. Everything was perfect, and her date was perfect. Oh god, she loved the way the cool breeze rustled his dark hair. In that moment, she felt completely serene. Then she remembered that there was a tiny, little problem. That was growing in her womb at this precise moment. "Jack, I have to tell you something..." Natalia could now feel her palms sweating slightly, oh boy this is so awful...
"Yes, hun?" HOW COULD HE POSSIBLY BE SO DAMN CALM AND SEXY RIGHT NOW?!
"I'm pregnant, Jack." Oh god, oh god, oh god!
"That's perfect!" his face lit up like he was a child that had just been told they were going to Disneyland. But that's not what she was thinking. I believe the words she was thinking were something like this...
'NO, IT IS NOT PERFECT, YOU COMPLETE AND UTTER MORON.'
"Jack, the baby isn't yours." She could immediately see his face drop, and the colour drain from his face.
"Oh, well that changes things."
"Jack please don't..."
"I'm sorry. I need to think for a while. I'll see you around." And with that, he got up and left. Which was really a dick move because he just left a pregnant woman. Alone. In the cold. And the dark. By the sea. Ay, ay, ay, this is bad.

Meanwhile, at the police station...

"Detective Watson, a word in my office please?" Ah, yes. You're probably wondering who this is. Let me introduce you...
Detective Watson. AKA, Chris Watson, who was the complete opposite of Jack Baker. Smart, kind, and he was Natalia's baby daddy. Of course, Chris didn't know that yet.
"What did you want to talk to me about, Sir?" Chris wondered what this was about as he stepped into the Chief's office, which was... Rather plastered with awards and medals from the Chief's career. It was rather intimidating, actually. "I wanted to talk to you about your former partner, Rose Foster." Oh no. He was doing that thing with his hands that he does when he has bad news.
"What about her, Chief?" Chris was starting to fidget in his seat, awkwardly.
"She's been found dead, in the Hummingbird Hotel." Oh boy. Looks like this is a bit of a sticky situation.
