Yeonjun's head darted up as he heard the recognizable voice. "Soobin?" He called out, running his hand through his hair, so it didn't look like a mess.
He didn't know why he had done that. It wasn't like he wanted to try and impress Soobin.
Soobin sat down across from him, "Wow! It's really like we can't get away from each other, can we?" He said with a seemingly forced laugh and a fake smile that followed.
"Yeah... um, Is everyone okay, Soobin?" He asked, noticing that something seemed really off and wrong with the younger. His eyes were red and puffy, almost if Soobin had been crying previously and all of the boy's natural happiness now just played off as dry and false.
"Yeah! Everything's totally fine. Why do you ask?" He tried to lie, a toothed smile shown.
Yeonjun raised an eyebrow and folded his arms across his chest.
As he did so, his name was called by the barista to pick up his drink. "This isn't over." He warned lightheartedly as he walked over to the counter to grab his frappé.
Yeonjun walked back over to the table and sat down, "Soobin, I know when something is wrong with someone. Human behavior isn't that difficult to learn. Your eyes are bloodshot and all of your humor I witnessed yesterday is forced. Please, as your friend, tell me what's wrong?"
The younger male stared at the ground, tears welling up inside his eyes as he played with his fingers, "It's just... Jungkook... and I... g-got into a fight last night after you left." He choked out after some struggle, and continued on with his story, "He has this really close friend, right? His name is Taehyung... He was kicked out of his house recently, and Jungkook told him he could move in with him. The issue is though is that..." Tears began to stream down the boy's face, "T-They're so close, and I-I'm scared that... It's such a horrible thought! I know I should trust him, but I-I'm scared that he is going to cheat on me..."
"When I tell Jungkook how I feel, he gets really mad at me and makes me feel like I'm the one to blame for my feelings. Jungkook says he's really against cheating, and he tried to tell me that Taehyung is just like a brother to him, that they were even talking about letting me visit and move in with them when I get old enough... that I should just drop the conversation, but my insecurities..."
Soobin grew quiet after his rant to Yeonjun. Only small sobs were heard from the eighteen year old.
Yeonjun sighed angrily as he listened to his story and nodded understandingly. He stood up and walked over to the crying teenager, enveloping him in a hug.
That moment was when guilt ran through Soobin's body and he began to apologize profusely for going on his rant, "I'm so sorry! I shouldn't have said anything! That rant was so long, and you probably got so bored and—"
Yeonjun ran his fingers through Soobin's hair and frowned, "Never apologize for your feelings... we are friends now, and I am here to listen to you."
He held Soobin's chin in his hand and lifted it up gently, "Look at me, Binnie..." Yeonjun demanded softly as he wiped the tears off of his friend's face.
He began to notice things he didn't get the chance to before. Soobin had a very deep set of brown eyes that any girl, or guy, could easily get lost in even if they were shedding tears. He definitely had the "dreamed-of" and "sought-after" appearance. His facial structures were soft and symmetrical. He also had very pouty lips, and whenever Soobin smiled, he reminded Yeonjun of a bunny.
Soobin smiled weakly at Yeonjun as the two looks each other in the eyes. "Soobin, I don't know much about relationships... actually, I know nothing at all, but I know that you shouldn't make the other person feel guilty for their feelings. You should be able to talk to the person about how you are feeling." He explained.
Soobin nodded and looked down once again, wiping away the last of his own tears. "You're right... but I love him, Yeonjun.. and I'm so scared to lose him!" He exclaimed, passionately.
Yeonjun sighed, nodding as he didn't really know how to respond. "I get that... Here, have my frappé! It might cheer you up." He said as he passed over the mint chocolate chip frappuccino.
Playfully gagging, Soobin pushed it back towards the high school graduate, "Gross! That's mint chocolate!" He said with a real laugh. The first one Yeonjun had heard from Soobin that day.
Even though Yeonjun was lowkey offended, the fact that the younger was able to laugh made an overwhelming happiness fill up inside of himself.
"Yeonnie?? Yeon-Yeon? Yeonjuuunn?? Earth to Yeonjun??"
Yeonjun snapped out of his daze to be met with Soobin with a weird look on his face, "why were you smiling at me like that?"
"O-Oh! I'm sorry," Yeonjun said, startled. "I just... nothing—!" He laughed awkwardly and looked away as he tried to blow off what he was going to say.
How could Yeonjun just tell Soobin he was practically checking him out? Or at least that's what it seemed like to him. He wasn't gay, and Soobin had a boyfriend!!
Soobin slowly nodded, obviously not buying it, however he seemed to let Yeonjun off the hook about it.
The taller male wiped his tears away before plastering a fake smile on his face, "Anyways—! Enough about me! Something seems to be on your mind, Yeonnie. What's wrong?"
Now it was Yeonjun's turned to feel sudden sadness, "Oh... It's just the fact that my best friend has been ignoring me since last night. I mentioned you and then he just got defensive and quiet." He explained with a sigh.
Yeonjun pulled out his phone for Soobin, directing him to the messages between the two.
Soobin examined the texts and nodded. He looked as if something unsaid was going through his thoughts.
The younger looked up at Yeonjun and sighed, rubbing his arm with a comforting smile that warmed the graduate, "Maybe he's just jealous at the fact that you have another friend that isn't him?? It's a harsh thought, but it could be possible." Soobin suggested.
Yeonjun stayed silent for a moment before nodding, "Y-Yeah... you might be right. Beomgyu has given signs of possessive natures before, but it was never this bad and it was only when we had just became friends..." He admitted.
