Phew, my 12 hour shift is just over. I should shower and get some much needed rest.

I'm ambivalent when it comes to mobiles. They make our life but still are damn annoying. I mute the attention seeking beast and get in the shower. Dollops of lavender shampoo and blueberry shower gel later, I perform the famous Ellen bathmat step out of the bathroom.
Ha, sweet comfy bed weaves unfathomable comfy feelings in me.

Reluctantly, I reach for the phone and read the 68 texts and ignore the 8 missed calls. 'Maya has gone into labor and someone needs to cover her shift, and it seems Sis. Jules has decided I am the scrape goat. It sucks being the juniormost nurse.
3 mugs of coffee later, I enter the psychiatric ward.
I take over and decide to read patient's files by myself as the other sister wanted to just get home. She seemed pissed but I think she'll be okay.
Sneha, a 17 year is here for attemped suicide and depression.
Rahul, is a recovering addict.
And a new patient, hmm.
Thank heavens, Sis. Jules considered that I am running on the brown coloured fuel and gave me the lightest ward in the hospital.
Rubbing my eyes, I make sure that Sneha and Rahul are fine.
I think Sneha is the most comfortable with me. She seemed happy with my arrival but she decoded my zombie vibes it seems. Yet, I sit down next to her and read a chapter of 'The Alchemist' to her. Woah, the author is superbly intellectual.
Sneha seems to be an intelligent young women with a thing for Paulo Coelho's books. I think I say some stray paper with her handwriting on discussing purpose of life. I introduced her to Jay Shetty's podcasts. She seems to enjoy them.
Rahul acts asleep. Fine. I smile to myself. Hope he gets rid of his demons.
New patient. The patient list said his name was Ivory D'Sa. I look up from the list to meet the most intense green eyes focussed on me. Dilated dark pupils set right in the centre.
