"March 3rd, 2019 6:49 AM." Marceline typed in the diary she had written on her phone.
"Mom, do I have to go to school? I just get harassed by everyone for not having any friends.." She told her mother.
"After hearing that it's hard for me to tell you this, but yes...You won't be able to get many jobs if you don't have a degree...." Her mother replied.
She continued to type in her diary. "I hate school. It doesn't add anything to the world except make the suicide rate numbers rise more than an office job would." She typed it in with ferocity.
As her mother's car reached the school, Marceline grabbed her backpack, started playing music in her earbuds, and walked into school.
Her mother stayed for a little to see if she would get into the building okay. As she watched, she saw some girls pushing her around, and decided to drive off.
Marceline walked into the school and went to her locker as she opened it and looked at a picture that was inside. It was a picture of a girl in her class she liked, but didn't have the courage to talk to her.
"Marceline." A voice said from behind her as she got startled. It was the principal at her school, Mrs. Ambrose.
"Your guidance counselor wants to see you today." She handed her a pass for her to go there when first period started.
"O-Oh....U-Um.....Th-Thank you Mrs. Ambrose..." She said in her quiet shy voice.
The bell rang, and she started to walk to her counselor's office.
She reached her office quickly so that she could talk with her for the most time possible. She knocked on the door and waited for her to open it.
"Oh, Hi Marceline!.." She said to her in a happy but quiet tone.
"...H-Hi Ms. Twilight..." Marceline replied with her shy voice.
Marceline stepped into her office slowly as Ms. Twilight sat down at her own desk.
"So how are things going, Marceline?" Ms. Twilight asked.
She sat in silence, not sure what to say to her.
"Well..um....I dyed my hair....again.....The same color...Because it faded..." Her voice got quieter and quieter as she continued.
The room was silent.
"C-Can I do the puzzle?..." Marceline asked.
"Sure" Ms. Twilight replied as she gave her a jigsaw puzzle box.
Whilst she was handing her the puzzle, Marceline tried to keep herself from looking at her chest.
"Don't do it. Don't Do it. Don't. Do it." She said to herself in her head.
Slowly, she glanced up at her chest and stared.
"Marceline? You okay?" Ms. Twilight asked worryingly.
"Huh?.....Uhh.....I-I'm fine...." Marceline replied.
"Okay...." Ms. Twilight replied.
Marceline took out all the puzzle pieces as Ms. Twilight sat at her desk.
After a few more minutes, the bell had rung for second period.
"Well....Um....I guess I'll go to class..." Marceline said as she waved her counselor goodbye.
She slowly walked upstairs to her next class, as a girl who is running runs directly into her, and both girls fall to the ground.
"AH! I'm so sorry! Are you okay?" The girl said to her as she tried to help her up.
Marceline looked up at the girl. She saw a gleam in her beautiful eyes, and thought to herself "...I need to make her mine..."
"Hey..A-Are you okay?..." The girl asked again. "O-Oh....Um....Yeah....." She grabbed the girls hand and blushed as she was helped up.
"I feel so bad for running into you!" The girl said.
"......N-No trouble at all..." Marceline replied as she felt blood falling down her head. "....Oh no..." She said to herself.
"Here, let me take you to the nurse.." The girl said as she grabbed Marceline's hand and started to walk with her.
"..M-My name is Marceline.....What's yours?..." She asked.
"Miranda" The girl replied.
As they reached the nurse's office, they waited quietly, and patiently.
Right then, the nurse then stepped out of her office, and she immediately saw Marceline's bloody head.
"Oh...Did "the accident" happen again?" The nurse asked.
".....N-No!.....M-Miranda ran into me...She's the one who brought me here..." Marceline answered.
"Okay, well come inside..." She told Marceline. "Miranda you wanna come inside too?" the nurse asked.
"Sure...I feel bad since I caused this.." She said as she entered the room.
As the nurse walked back in, she started to ask Marceline questions for the next few minutes, and after that, she started to stitch her up.
"Marceline, again, I'm so sorry I ran into you...I was just trying not to be late to my next class.." Miranda said apologetically.
"It's fine....I've been physically hurt so much I don't even feel pain....." Marceline told Miranda.
Marceline closed her eyes as Miranda looked at her. She started to feel different. She wasn't normally like this.
"Do I......Like a girl?...." Miranda said in her mind.
"Hey...Marceline.." Miranda said.
"Yeah?....." Marceline replied as she opened her eyes.
"Do you maybe....Wanna hang out during lunch and after school?" Miranda asked cautiously.
Marceline blushed just at the thought of spending time with her.
"...Um...Sure...." Marceline said as her voice got quieter.
Miranda gave a happy grin as Marceline giggled behind the sleeve of her sweater.
"Alright, you're all patched up. If you want, I can write you a pass back to class or you can stay here." the nurse told the girls.
"...I think we'll stay here...." Marceline answered.
Miranda smiled again as the two girls sat next to each other.
