Vas is as raised as a Shadow demon. His mentor, Miah, saw no potential in him so didn't bother much with training. he was assigned jobs like cleaning around the towns. When the knights went on raids and attacks he was told to stay home. He was only allowed on one mission, where he saved a young witch from an unfair fight. He was never allowed on another mission. Eventually, he got tired of being ignored. When a man named Amir came along and fought him, he tried his best to fight back, driven by fear but Amir took pity. Amir offered to take him to the real world and train him when Vas was 19 and Amir was 20. Vas agreed with no hesitation. after almost a year of training, they went to attack a village together, Vas knew it wasn't the right thing to do but he figured it could help bring him closer to his family in away. at this time Vas discovered his fire powers. soon he realized he had developed feelings for Amir. he tried to repress the feelings but Amir brought up his past arranged marriage with Asteria Canthro. Vas let it slip out, and Amir realized he had liked Vas but never acknowledged it. After two years of being "boyfriends", They finally got married at 22&23. As time went on they discovered more about themselves and each other, learning about the extremities of their powers. At 27&28 Amir decided to attack his hometown of Elysia. Vas had only heard of what it was like in stories Amir told, and it had changed a lot since then. Amir was almost jealous of what he had given up, he told Vas to stay outside and keep anyone from going in. He met guards outside, and they fought pretty intensely until they heard a crash inside. They stopped their fighting and ran in. Amir was on the ground, shaking. Vas picked him up and took him out to a clearing where Amir died in his arms.
After months of mourning, Vas decided to go back to Amir's home. He lived in Elysia for years until Roman Taugner (an old friend from the shadow realm) convinced him to fight in a revolution against the Shadow demons current leader. He agreed after being told that it is 'what Amir would want'
He went back and proved to himself that he could be strong. When he got back he was questioned and even taunted. He challenged Miah to a fight to the death. Vas was empowered by something spiritual to end it all and prove Miah and everyone else wrong. He killed Miah in front of everyone (who were all watching to see vas get humiliated and beaten) He gained a reputation, moving up the fighting ranks and gaining all sorts of things. his mother and sister were finally proud of him.
Soon after, he flew through the shadows rankings and became Roman's second in command. He seemed to be getting stronger every day, that is until Roman decided he was too big of a threat. Roman started erasing his memories and eventually killed him because he had "no use". He and Amir reunited in the afterlife and stayed together happily.
