Avni opened to a beep sound. Struggling she tried to open her eyes, with greater difficulty.She immediately recognized she's in hospital. But, then her mind shifted to Neil and she ran to him like a maniac.
Panting she opened the door only to hear a chuckling behind it.
Intrigued, she opened it fully to see her love smiling, but not at her.
He was looking at her as a stranger.
What?
Sensing her behind, everyone stopped laughing and turned to her to see with an unknown expression.
Pity?
Maybe!
That was when hell broke.
" Bacha " Neela came near her as if to support.
" Neil, Neil thank god- " she started uttering words with her unshed tears.
" But, who are you, " he asked and moved away when she was about to come near her.
" Avni, he has amnesia, " they said
And, that's when her heart broke. Completely.
Shattered.
It pained her heart, to see him, her Neil to not remember her. She was not aware when she even started crying.
She knew everyone she loved will leave her eventually.
And, this was the end, she thought.
Sighing, she moved away from him and was about to leave the room.
" Baby, won't you come to hug your hubby? " Neil asked grinning widely.
Avni, furrowed her eyebrows, not aware of her family's mischief.
She slowly approached him and was starting to fumble with words.
"You.. — Amnesia? " she stuttered.
Everyone grinned, leaving the couple all alone.
" No Avni, I can even forget myself. But never you. Never Avni, not even in my dreams " he cupped her cheek, wiping her tears.
She quickly hugged him tightly savoring his warmth that she had been missing from days.But, then his prank struck her and she pushed him.
" what the actual fuck, Neil. I was so damn scared and youu— " she couldn't continue as her tears started flowing.
" Avni.. " he called
" No Neil. I hate you, soo much. Go to hell " she said angrily.
Neil, felt like someone pierced his heart.
" You- You are not happy to see me conscious avni? " he asked her with tears in his eyes.
" No Neil, are you mad? I am very much happy that you are alive. I am actually ecstatic. But, I really thought yo -you had amnesia and it shattered my heart. " she said approaching him.
He huffed and took her to his arms, secured her.
" I am so sorry Avni. I didn't mean to scare you away. But, you know how I gained my consciousness? " he asked her excitedly.
Intrigued she asked him
" How Neil? "
" Because of you my love. Your whole lot of speech made me come alive and be there with you, for you. You are my strength Avni. And what did you just said? You are a bad omen? Never say such stuff Avni. I am gonna go crazy if you speak something like that about you. I am gonna lose my mind and go Godzilla over everyone around me. " he said looking at her.
" I love you, Neil, I missed you so much, " she said whilst snuggling into his chest.
" I love you more, Avni. I promise I will never leave you " he muttered pecking her forehead.
"Forever, " she asked him nervously.
" Haan, ab to forever " he assured.
And, it's done.
IDK, if it reached your expectations or not. However, I agree I have written this in a hurry. I have gotta pack and go back to hell for my exams.
