"We have breaking news being reported by our superiors." Our friend Micheal, in the news, said as he was interrupted when he was giving the updates on today's weather.

"The city of Lexington has been put down under the martial law just minutes ago due to unknown reason. Our reporters are trying to get us information as to why but they've all been unsuccessful, as of right now all they've been able to get is that nobody is to leave there house or whatever place they're in until further notice. Again, no one in the city of Lexington is to be outside until further notice."

He paused not knowing what to continue saying, "We're trying to figure out the reason behind it as fast as possible and when this lockdown will be over, but for those in Lexington stay inside. The government should notify us at any minute as to the reason behind this sudden shutdown."

I placed my backpack on the table before turning to face my parents who were engrossed in the news.

My mother's petite figure stood right in front of my father's 6-foot figure as my dad rested his head on my mother's head and arms around her waist.

Lexington was just an hour away from home if not a little less and it was a small town barely known of and it was usual to hear something going on in it.

"Dad, what's going on?" I asked but before he could even answer he was interrupted.

"Dad, are we save?" My 7-year old sister, Leah, asked as she came dragging her feet with her teddy bear in one hand and the other covering a yawn.

"Yes, honey everything is ok-" He started before he was abruptly cut off by Micheal.

"Another report has come in, the city of Greensville is now under the martial law as well. This is highly unusual to see especially in such small towns. Things have to be completely out of control for them to have everyone under lockdown. Again, Lexington and Greensville are under complete lockdown, everyone needs to be inside and under any circumstances should they step outside. The government is yet to notify anyone about there reasons behind this."

My mom rubbed her hands together before facing my dad with a nervous look on her face. "John, call Marisa and ask her if she's okay and if she knows what is going on."

He looked down at my mom and sister who now had her arm wrapped around my mom's waist. "Amanda, honey I'm sure it's nothing. Plus, she would have called if it was something serious."

"Dad is Aunt Marisa okay? What's going on?" Colton, Leah's twin brother asked as he came to stand beside me wide awake and fear in his eyes.

Colton and Leah were similar in every aspect they both had amber eyes and beige skin color the only difference was their hair and the way the acted.

Colton had hazel hair and was more mature, considering he was just 7, when it came to serious situations. As for Leah, she had dirty blonde hair and barely cared about what happened around her considering she knew that she was the baby of the family and that everyone would do anything for her.

Dad seemed to be nervous from the way he was taking longer than needed to answer and from the way he was twisting hem of his shirt.

"I don't know buddy," He finally utters in a low voice. "But I'll call her to make sure everything is okay. There's nothing to worry about right now, okay. Now go eat your breakfast."

We all nod our heads and started to head to the kitchen where breakfast had been placed 10 minutes ago on the table and was now cold.

Mom began to reheat the food as the kids went to wash up to eat.

I, however, stepped back into the living room where my dad was swearing on his phone.

"Answer dang it, why won't you answer Marisa." He continues trying to call but it was helpless. He finally gave up, head hanging low with his phone in his right hand.
