Recognition

Chapter 1 : Mission was a go. Good job Lucy!

There will most likely be a lot of mistakes. Please bare with me I'm extremely dyslexic and don't have glasses yet but I hope you enjoy!

Blue Amazon leaped from building to building. The cold, crisp night air was a sign that soon, it would snow. She looked around to spot the thief she had been looking for. She swiftly leapt off the building onto the criminal as he came to a halt . She reached for her handcuffs and pounced onto the thief like a lion would a deer. She swiftly shackled him and held his hands behind his back. She leaned into her walkie talkie.

"Hey, I got him. I'm at NYC Square. By the biggest building with like four fountains. " she said with a solid look of accomplishment.

"We may need a medic I think I broke something jumping off the building. " she said elevating one foot.

"We are sending officer grimes and a new paramedic. " the dispatcher said happily.

"Well, you caught me. I guess that means I'm going away." The criminal sneered.

"Shut up and don't resist. I don't care what I break to bring you into states custody. You underestimate me. " Blue Amazon said angered by what felt like a broken tendon in her heel.

"Here's a tip, don't be a try hard. " he said trying to run. Lucy flung herself at the thief and pinned him down.

"I said don't resist. " Lucy said angrily. She looked into his eyes. She squinted and then got up. She had frozen him in fear.

The police arrived where they saw the thief on the ground. Lucy sat on the stairs and waited for the paramedic.

She noticed her foot bone was snapped in half. She sat down and ripped some of her shirt under her hoodie and began wrapping it so the bleeding would stop.

She looked at her foot then held her head.

"I'm so stupid..." she said starting to cry.

The paramedic had flipped the sirens and it could be heard from a block away. She shoved her mask into her pocket and sighed.

The sirens seemed to fade she looked up to see the paramedic. He helped Lucy off of the ground, and helped her into the back or the ambulance.

"Do you have any parents or care takers?" He asked while flipping the sirens.

"Yeah. My dad and my brother. Although my brother isn't really a care taker. But I can call him if I can't get to my dad. " Lucy overshared awkwardly.

"Alright, if you can. There is a phone to your left. Give it a number, let's say your dad. Call someone and tell them to go to the hospital and go to room.... 45." The young man said confidently.

"How do you know what room?" Lucy asked.

"I can see into the future. " he said with a grin.

"Can you tell me if my dad will be angry?" She asked.

"Let's see. Is he stocky? Very strong?" He asked.

"He's the best hero out there. The top hero. " Lucy said smiling.

"Wait, you mean to tell me your dad is that Warrior Hero?" He asked.

"Yeah. Is he gonna be mad?" She asked.

"Let me see your hand. " he said reaching behind him.

He touched her hand and pulled it away. So he could focus on driving.

"No he won't be mad. But he will tell you something you don't want to hear..." he said making a right. He pulled into the hospital.

"I can put you in a wheel chair for now. We didn't have any available stretchers. "

"I need to call my dad and tell him what happened really quickly. " Lucy said nervously.

"No worries. I can do it once we get you into your room. Or you can use your cellphone. " the paramedic said smiling.

"I didn't catch your name.." Lucy said with a nervous smile.

"I go by Frank. " he smiled.

"Thank you for all of your help, Frank. " she said smiling.

"If I'm allowed to ask... how on earth did you manage to do this?" Frank asked.

"Can you keep a secret?" Lucy asked.

"Of course!" Frank said smiling.

Lucy pulled out her mask and placed it on her face. She let her hair down and used her power to make her hair float effortlessly up into the night sky.

"You're Blue Amazon?! I though she was a myth!" He said smiling.

Lucy shoved her mask back in her pocket and let her hair fall back down.

"Well, I'm not too surprised. I want people to like the work I do without them knowing me. So try to keep me off the media.." she jokingly sneered.

"Your secret is safe with me. " he said smiling.

Lucy was rushed into surgery where they operated on her foot and she was put in her room to recover until someone could arrive. Their healer was with some more important patients. Lucy waited patiently, but her brother arrived before the healer did.

"Hey Luce, you doin' ok?" Her brother asked.

"John, I'm ok. I just jumped off a four story building onto a criminal. He almost broke the fall too. " Lucy said smiling.

"Four stories?! Lucy you know that two is pushing it why on earth would you jump off of four? Do you have a death wish?!" Johnathan asked.

"I don't need a lecture, I finished the job. And no one got hurt but me. " Lucy argued.

"That's just it! You've been hurt for the past 4 years.. you stay hurt. At this rate I'll have to work 2 jobs besides being a hero.. please when your foot heals, don't be a sweat... just chill out a bit. " Johnathan sighed.

"What is a 'sweat'?"  Lucy asked.

"A try hard! Your so dense sometimes..." her brother said sitting down in the chair in the corner of the room.

Her father opened the door and held his head.

"Lucy I love you to death... but Jesus Christ, quit breaking your bones... break the criminal's bones instead. " he said with a sigh.

Lucy sat in silence and panned to the window. She noticed a shadow figure. She tilted her head  and dismissed it. She didn't sleep much anyway.

She looked at the door to which the healer had made his way to her room. She flashed a smile making him flustered.

"Hello miss Lucy, I'm Dr. Lee. I've come to check out your fracture. May I ask how exactly this happened?" He asked.

"I was on a roof top party and fell. Surprisingly I landed on my feet..." she said nervously smiling.

"Lucy, look at him again. " her father chuckled.

She looked at him again to reveal her fathers team mate And her best friend Seth. She slapped her forehead.

"I'm so stupid. Every time Seth. Quit doing this. " she said shaking her head.

Seth was a average guy. He was born with a power. However it was something that was considered 'evil'. He is able to use his soul as a shadow demon. But he was experimented on relentlessly until Lucy , her father Leroy, and Johnathan saved his life. And to that... well I guess that's a story for some other time...
