The Nerd I Loved (Block B Taeil)

Chapter 20

"Hm, well then," I simply said.

"I wish you luck, Chaerinnie," He smiled widely.

"I wish you luck too, kid," I smiled back.

"I don't need it, and I'm not wishing you luck for the project," He told me.

"Uh, then what for?" I asked confused.

"About the you know ... Taeil and Jaehyo incident .." He said the last words really silent, it was barely audible.

I sighed. "Why'd you have to remind me?"

The voluntary teachers came in and told us which buses to get on so we could arrive at the science fair. I was so glad we got to miss the rest of the school day.

I sat next to Chen which showed me what his project was about, making me insecure about my own project. I told him about mine and he seemed amused.

"So .. you're going to put a gummy bear into the test tube of potassium which causes a chemical reaction? That is cool!" He exclaimed. I simply smiled.

"And I see you have a whole bag of gummy bears too.." He looked down at the bag of gummy bears in my lap along with my other materials.

"You can eat some after the science fair," I told him.

He smiled brightly. "How did you know I wanted some?"

"It wasn't very hard to figure out .." I replied with a smile.

When the bus started heading to the science fair, I put on my earphones and looked out the window, getting a little nervous about the science fair. And as usual, Taeil came to my mind. What is he doing right now? Is he thinking of me?

Next thing I knew, I woke up to someone poking my cheeks.

"Psst. Noona, wake up! We're here!" A cheerful voice exclaimed.

I opened my eyes slowly to see P.O. with the brightest smile while there were only a couple of more people on the bus, which were getting off. I got up and grabbed my materials, then steppe out of the bus to see an elegant high school. Our high school was probably just half as big.

"Okay, follow me my scientists!" The teacher exclaimed. We walked into the school and it was even more elegant inside. There were countless students(at LEAST 400), already setting up their projects on the tables, and performing their experiment to the judges that walked around.

I set my materials and project on a table and began organizing things. I put the cardboard presentation behind all my materials.

"Test tube check, potassium check, gummy bears .." I looked through my materials. My heart started to pound and I almost had a mini heart attack.

Where are the gummy bears?!

"I lost my gummy bears!" I exclaimed worriedly.

P.O. looked over at my things and then said,"It's okay, Chaerin. You can have my Skittles for lunch."

I facepalmed myself. "Aniyo, I lost the gummy bears I need for my project, I lost them."

"Hi Chaerin!" Someone in front of my table said. Oh gosh, please don't be a judge ..

I looked up and saw Chen, easing me a little more. But not by much because they're still missing.

"Watcha lookin for?" He asked casually, looking at my table.
