New Broadway show, Butterfly, is revolutionary in the way it delivers profound social commentary on the futility of "just existing," and grapples with a hard-to-face truth: sometimes the things we want desperately, more than anything else, just aren't meant to be.
Led by an extraordinary cast, the show follows the life of misfit inventor Rupert Cooke (Kevin Price) as he struggles to complete his most elaborate invention yet, a flying machine affectionately nicknamed after his sweetheart, Adonis (Rosie Whitehall); Butterfly. Supported by best friend Miles (Connor McKinley), who's secretly in love with him, and sister Ada (Celia Bridges), Rupert has to find out what he's willing to sacrifice to accomplish his goal - or whether he has it in him at all.
Every moment of the show's artfully-crafted, carefully designed and choreographed. It's visually breathtaking, emotionally gripping, and absolutely heartbreaking all at once. A strong contender for the Tony Awards this year!
