Avonlea was beautiful. The trees swayed as the wind grew with eager. Most importantly, the breathtaking flowers. I swear every year they grow more beautiful. On the way to the schoolhouse the ground was wet, my new flats getting soaked. Mothers gonna be fumed. I was hyped to get to school to see my best friend. Gilbert Blythe. I couldn't talk to him much because of Ruby Gillis. She apparently had "dibs" which i think is outrages. It's not like he likes her. Gil is not some toy or object. He is a man of his own.
Josie Pye gives me looks because she's ruby's "best friend".
Diana and Anne are my best friends. they are always there when i need them. They think Gilbert and I would be a good couple but i don't think of him that way. He's been my best friend since we where in diapers.

"Hey, Y/n" Gilbert yelled running towards me. "Oh hi" i yelled brightly. "Jesus y/n"Gilbert holds his ear.
"Sorry" I laughed
"Nerd" He eyed me.
I playfully punched his arm as we walked into the schoolhouse
"Y/N, can i walk you home today?" He smiled brightly. "Sure! Why not." I smiled back. I walked to my seat.

"Y/n, Gilberts looking at you." Diana smiled wildly. I raise an eyebrow. I turned to look at him. I smiled at him and he winked at me and turned back to his slate. "Oh quite exquisite! You guys would be a marvelous couple!" Anne squealed, along with Diana. Diana nodded her head at Anne.
"Oh, yes. I agree"
"He's just a friend" I chuckled
"Just a friend" Anne mimicked.
"Im hungry" Diana announces. We burst in laughter, holding our sides.

"Quiet down everyone, this is no time to talk. School is important, if you don't pay attention i will give you all F's!" Mr. Phillips said enraged. He eyed down every student bluntly. "Now, class begins." He groaned loudly.

School ended, as i walked to the coat racks to gather my things and put them in my basket. "Need a hand?" I turned around. "No thank you Gilbert, I'm alright." I respond. "You've been quiet today. Is everything alright?" He asked me, giving me a look. "Yeah, I'm alright" i gave him a reassuring smile. He smiled back and took my hand in his. I looked up at him, flustered.

I started to shiver. Gilbert wrapped his arm around me and pulled me closer, trying to keep me warm. I smiled to myself. I took his hand in mine.
"You're hands are soft."
"Thank you"
Laughter hindered the silence

"This is where we part." He over exaggerated. I looked at him and engulfed him into a light, yet comfortable hug. I pulled away and started walking away. I walked a short distance until i heard faint footsteps behind me. I stop to turn around.
"Gilbert?"
He caught up to me."What are you doing?"
"This" He smiles. He grabbed my cheeks and pulled me close. Our lips touched. They moved perfectly together. I wrapped my arms around his neck, playing with his curls. The kiss wasn't heavy it was soft, and passionate. I smiled into the kiss. He pulled away, our foreheads touching. I looked into his hazel eyes.
"wow" he breathed out.
"Yeah, WOW." i teased.
"you're a good kisser, y/n"
"not to bad yourself, blythe."
He smiled and looked into my eyes. My heart melted as he smiled. God dammit Gilbert Blythe. Why do you do this to me?!
Y/n POV
"Goodbye mother!" I yelled walking out.

"Good morning love." I met Gilbert's eyes. He pulled me into his arms.
"How was your walk this morning?"
"Oh, it was alright. Pretty trees per usual."
"Y/F/N."
I whip around to the yelling behind me.
"What where you doing with MY GILBERT?" Ruby stomped, raising her voice.
(Weird flex but ight)
"Ruby. I don't know what you mean."
"My god, yes you do y/n!" She screamed. Ruby got closer to my face, spitting every word.
"Girls. Calm down." Anne pulls ruby away.
"she was talking to my Gilbert." She huffs, folding her arms together.
"Ruby. I'm sorry I don't like you."
Gilbert interrupts.
She looks up at him. Her eyes start watering. She stomps away from Gilbert, Anne and I.
"My god. Thank you Anne."
"No problem y/n. Gilbert's yours." She pats my back.
I punch her arm.
The 3 of us laugh.
"Alright kids. Sit down. Class begins" Mr Phillips yells.
