Prologue

I watched her in the cell, clinging to the corner as if to shield herself from what was about to happen. But nothing would keep her from this fate. I could still save her though. I could still set her free.

She heard me approach. Her head snapped up towards mine, her green eyes reeling me in. They were filled with an angry hunger. She slammed her eyes shut and covered them with the palms of her hands. I noticed the blood seeping out from her ears.

"Please." She begged. When I didn't respond she turned to look at me again, this time with blood running like tears from her eyes.

"Please!" She cried as she got up from her place in the corner. She walked over to the glass window and slammed her fists against it. Blood splattered where her fist connected. It took everything within me to remain composed.

I would have to go in there.

I would have to face her.

I would have to kill her.
