|A Poem|

Etched into this Earth,

The best version of me,

you will never know it

and you will never see.

You will never hold,

you will never have,

it will never be.

Never be yours to hold,

never be yours to see,

never for you to sit, hold, admire, and glee.

It will live far.

Far from you,

far from your being,

far from your character.

Never touch its existence,

never a grasp of it or

even a glimpse of its center.

This love of mine,

you will never know it,

you will never see,

it will never be.

Never be yours to indulge,

live for you, your soul,

your life, or your pleas.

It will never cry.

Fall to your mercy.

Sob for your touch.

Yearn to be heard.

Beg to be loved.

Plead to be searched.

Will never be weak,

will never be seen.

Never be lost, taken, pushed aside

and thrown to the sea.

Never again am I going to question who I am supposed to be.

And in the end,

I repeat.

Much to your surprise,

much to your defeat.

It's not for you to enjoy,

The best version of me.
