"Patience!!" I hear my mom yelling from downstairs. I'm completely exhausted but the fact that there's only a couple of weeks left of school excites me at the same time. I got out of bed and went straight to the shower, then I got dressed and hurried downstairs.
"Hey Sweetheart"
"Hey mom, I'm not feeling breakfast today plus I'm late" I said while rushing out the door to get in my car .
Since last year, I've always had the same friends. Everyone had my school (Riverbanks High) are douche bags. But I've always had my closest friends with me since freshmen year: Ayesha, Vanessa, and Keisha.
After school I drove to my favorite restaurant, which was this Italian Restaurant by my house and picked up some food before going back home.
"Hey Patience"
"Hey mom, why are you home so early?" I asked.
"Well today while I was at work I ran across this boy in the street and he was basically homeless and I was trying to take him back to my job so he could be put in the foster system but the office closed really early today but I couldn't leave him in the streets like that" my mom said with a weird smirk on her face.
"Wait....so what is that supposed to mean, where's the boy right now" I asked with a confused face.
"Well he kind of sort of might be upstairs in the guest room" my mom said.
"WHAT!? so you mean to tell me there's a boy from the street in our house. What if he carries some disease.... what if he's a robber ? "
My mom explained to me that it's only for a couple of days until the foster kids office where she works at opens up again. Apparently there closed for a couple days because they have some capacity issues and that there's too much kids in the shelter.
"Be nice Patience! he's a very nice young boy. He's name is Deshae and he's 18" my mom told me.
"Whatever" I said while walking back upstairs not even looking towards the guest room. I don't even want to see how he looks like, he probably smells bad too.
I walked towards the main bathroom to get my hair brush. As I was reaching to get the brush from the cabinet, I heard a deep voice from behind me
"Hey I'm Deshae"
I turned around and I seen a tall, muscular, light brown eyes , and brown skinned boy and he was shirtless. In my mind I'm like this couldn't possibly be the boy my mom is talking about. He was so fine and good looking.
"Hey, my mom told me about you and why are you not wearing a shirt?" I said trembling because I was nervous.
"Your mom said I could take a shower here and is you good shawty?"
"Yeah I'm good" I said scurrying off to my room.
I called my friends and told them about this and I don't know what was going on with me but my insides felt tingly and I needed this feeling to stop. So I just went to sleep.
The next morning I woke up extra early today and I don't know why but I just went with the flow. My parents weren't home so I made my own breakfast and danced around the living room with the radio blasting. I thought I was alone until I seen Deshae leaning against the wall and watching me then I quickly stopped dancing and turned off the radio.
"Wow...that's cute" He said with a big smile on his face then he started laughing.
I completely forgot this boy was in our house. I was so embarrassed.
"Pretend like you didn't see that" I said while covering my face and running back to my room\
But before I could get to my room Deshae stopped me and came close to my face and said
"Hey... you don't have to feel weird this is your house just chill"
When he said that, my heart started racing but in my head it made me feel more comfortable but not 100% around him.
