It's fifteen minutes before class. You clutch the snack you bought tightly, weaving through the busy hallway. You need to get this to him before class starts. Desperate, you push through the crowd, their voices blending into a hum of random chatter, each student minding their own business.
Still carrying your bag, you rush on. The first thing you did when you entered the classroom earlier was run out again—he had ordered you to grab food for him.
Maybe your lotion made your skin too slippery, or maybe you're just clumsy, but your heart drops as you feel the Almond milk and sandwich slip from your grasp. Time slows as the milk carton hits the floor, bursting open, its contents spilling across the hallway.
Students fall silent. All eyes turn to you.
I have to buy another one.
Frantically, you scan the ground for the sandwich—only to watch a heel come down on it, flattening it.
I know who she is.
You don't even need to look up. Her presence is enough to tell you. She always finds a way to make a scene. Your stomach churns, and you quietly turn on your heel, determined to walk away.
But her voice cuts through the air.
"Should the janitor's daughter leave her mess here for her father to clean up?"
Laughter ripples through the crowd, stinging your ears. You glance at the students around you. Their eyes are full of pity, but no one dares to step in. What could they do? She’s untouchable—the queen of the school’s social hierarchy.
Sighing, you pull a handkerchief from your pocket and kneel to wipe up the milk. The ridicule grows louder as she takes a step closer, her shadow looming over you.
"Do you think that tiny rag is enough to clean all this up?" Her voice is sharp, dripping with mockery.
You freeze as she edges closer, her eyes scanning your uniform with a smirk. You take a shaky step back, clutching the handkerchief like it’s your only shield.
"You know what would work better? Take off your blouse. Use that."
Her command echoes down the hallway, silencing everyone. The boys cheer mockingly, the crowd waiting for your next move. Your face burns with humiliation, your fingers trembling as they hover over the buttons of your blouse.
But before you can do anything, a blazer lands on your head.
You blink, recognizing the scent instantly.
And then you hear his voice: deep, cold, commanding.
"What are you doing, Jihyeo? This is a school, not a club. Don’t embarrass yourself."
The crowd parts as Choi Soobin strides toward you. His expression is unreadable, but the tension in the air is palpable. He doesn’t stop until he’s beside you, grabbing your arm—not gently, either. You flinch at the strength of his grip, but he lifts you up effortlessly, pulling you to your feet.
"I thought I made myself clear last time," he says to Jihyeo, his tone low and dangerous. "Are you too stupid to remember what I told you?"
Jihyeo’s smirk falters, her confidence evaporating under his glare. She backs away without another word, her entourage trailing behind her.
The hallway buzzes with whispers as Soobin turns to the remaining crowd. His voice cuts through their murmurs like a knife.
"The show’s over. Go to class before I lose my patience."
The students scatter, leaving just the two of you. His grip on your arm loosens, but his annoyance lingers. Without a word, he starts walking, pulling you along with him.
You realize quickly that he isn’t leading you to your classroom. Instead, he drags you to the rooftop.
The air feels heavier up here as he finally releases your arm. For a moment, he looks like he might raise his hand—but you instinctively shield yourself, closing your eyes tightly.
"Wait!" you blurt out, your voice barely above a whisper. "I know I ruined your breakfast, but please… let me make it up to you."
You gesture toward your bag, and he eyes it suspiciously. Slowly, you pull out your lunchbox and offer it to him.
"Here," you say, your voice trembling. "I cooked this. It’s supposed to be my lunch, but… I hope you like it."
He raises an eyebrow but accepts it anyway, opening the lid and taking a bite. You watch nervously as his gaze softens slightly, the tension in his shoulders easing. Without a word, he waves you off with the chopsticks in his hand, heading to an unused chair.
You exhale shakily, your heart still racing. Even with all the chaos, you can’t help but feel relieved. At least for now, the School Demon is appeased.
Hi again! I decided to rewrite this book. Gosh, I couldn't believe that this book is already 6 years old. As i tried to read it, I couldn't help but to laugh because of the bad I wrote before (dang, as if I improved)
Anyway, there's a change of plot because there's loopholes in this book. Feel free to re read this if you like,See you!
