//Sevrin's POV
Dear Blue,
it's been a while... but I still hope that we will meet again one day! You won't believe what happened since we met! But for the sake of chronology I will start from the very beginning.
I was Muggle-born, so my childhood was pretty boring and eventless, considering the exciting world I was about to be a part of turning 11. Well..except for that one stormy night, the night we met. It was shortly after my 7th birthday, my parents and I were on vacation in the mountains and we had rented a small, but cozy cabin right next to a pond. Both were surrounded by a thick pine and spruce forest and I loved playing there, sometimes with my parents, sometimes alone. There was so much to discover, sooo many animals and plants I had never seen before! One evening, it was getting late and I was out playing alone, when the weather suddenly changed. Gigantic thunderclouds darkened the sky and a cold wind was getting up. I wanted to run back to the cabin, but I was lost. Everything looked different now. Wind and lashing rain changed the forest. What looked so peaceful before, had come alive. I felt like the trees were bending down and trying to grab me. Running around, screaming and crying for my parents, I eventually tripped over a branch and fell. I crawled to a big tree and curled up, shivering and sobbing between its enormous roots. The rain was icy, my face and fingers went numb, I couldn't feel my feet for quite a while, but I didn't care. Not anymore, I just wanted to sleep, the pain was already fading as I closed my eyes. Finally. I felt heat biting my fingers, face, and feet. 'The heat?', I wondered. Slowly, and only with supreme effort, I managed to open my eyes. There was nothing, everything was just black. I blinked, sluggishly. When I opened them again, there were two big blue eyes staring at me. I froze once again. The eyes were observing, shining a dim, blueish light on me. I couldn't turn away from those eyes, they looked like a little blue galaxy, full of sparkling crystals. Finally, being able to take my eyes off them, I searched for the source of heat that I felt on my still shivering body. I found two holes, consistently emitting sparks on me. It took me a while to recognize them as giant nostrils. I don't know why I wasn't scared, maybe my brain was still to frozen be afraid, maybe because I felt no danger coming from it, but I dared to lift my hand and touch the snout. It felt surprisingly smooth and warm. Before my arm even fell to the ground, I had already fallen asleep. Not hearing the rhythmic sounds of its breaths or the noise of the still raging storm.
When I woke up, I was completely disoriented, I had images of a dragon and a violent storm in my head. 'What a wild dream', I thought. The light was dim, apparently I was lying on forest soil? I was so confused. Before I could think more about what the hell had happened to me, I heard a soft snort behind me. The moment I turned around I got blinded by bright light, as if someone had parted the curtains. Protecting my eyes from the sunlight, I hid behind my arms. When I lowered them again, I was looking in the face of a dragon. I was stunned, I've never seen something so majestic before. The dragon's head came closer and closer and eventually touched my forehead. While I was still processing what was going on, it stepped back and with a few strokes of its powerful wings, it - I mean: you - took off into the morning sky.
Shortly afterwards my parents found me and brought me back to our cabin. I was so excited, I told them everything on the way, but they didn't believe me. Neither did the doctor we went to for a checkup, he just explained with a soft smile that hallucinations are common among people who suffered from hypothermia. I didn't believe him. I didn't want to believe him. I was certain, I had met a dragon.
The day I turned eleven was the best day in my life, I not only got to know that I am a wizard and that there is magical world, but also that I was right about that fateful night. If it wasn't for the gift you gave me when you touched my forehead, I probably would have believed what the doctor said. Sometimes, I have to admit, I was pretty close to doing so, but then, every time I looked in the mirror, I saw all the proof I needed. A blue curl of hair, falling into my left eye, right where you had touched me. I hadn't even noticed what you had done then, but now I am happy every time I see it. There was something very odd about it though: No matter how my parents tried to alter it or it's colour, it just stayed blue. When cut off, it would magically regrow over night. Burning it, didn't work either, it appeared to be fire resistant. My parents took me to several doctors, but no one could explain it, so they had no choice but accept it. Besides, I love my curl.
Ever since I can remember I was interested in animals and when I started attending Hogwarts, I developed an intense interest in magical creatures, which by the way, is obviously your fault, Blue. Therefore I consider myself very lucky to always have had a certain connection or at least the ability to quickly bond with any living being I have met so far. Well.. except humans, I never know how to behave around them or how to interact till today.
This 'ability' grew even stronger since I had discovered and got better at using magic. Now that I think of it, that did start right after I met you.. I guess that's no coincidence either, right?
Back to business. Others often described me as a calm person and even as calming to others, which is funny, cause usually people make me feel anxious and insecure rather than calm. So now, after graduating from Hogwarts, I attend Hogwarts University. I heard lots about this university and its, let's say rather unusual headmaster, but I think it is an amazing place, unlike any other. Even though some seem to be indignant about his way to run the university, as well as his methods and views, they are the very reasons why I appreciate this place so much.
My major is Care of magical creatures, considering my inexhaustible passion for them and your precious gift, I hope to learn as much as I possibly can in class, but also from all these unique animals themselves. Psychology is my minor. I know that's probably an uncommon pairing, but I decided that I can't keep going like this. I chose psychology, because I need to get better with people, there is no way around that. Even though it's 'just' my minor, I assume it will be more of a struggle than my major. Let's just hope this will help me with both, understanding people better and fighting my anxiety.. we will see about that though..
And that's basically how I ended up here at Hogwarts University.
I hope you are alright and thank you for everything!
