I stepped into my shoes, opened and closed the door as quiet as possible and, ran. I got to the nearby park, ducked through a bush and got to my favorite spot where there was an old fountain of a woman bending down with her hand outstreched towards me. I don't see the color of the water but it must be blue, even though I don't know what blue looks like. Her face is missing. Like a blank canvas. She must've been beautiful, a long time ago.

'Running from home again, then?', a deep, raspy voice came from the shadows. A man stepped out from under the curtain of ivy behind the fountain. His hair darker than the half-visible sky, his eyes rivalling the galaxy of stars behind him. His skin shining, pale, it looks almost translucent. His lips tinged with the lightest of reds, but not what you would call pink. I wonder who this beautiful angel of the night is. And then, it hit me like an oncoming train.

I can see the color of his lips. My monochrome eyes, seeing the red in his lips. Who is he?

'I.....who are you?', I said, trying to hold eye contact with those glittering orbs.

He let out a dark chuckle. 'Does it matter?', he asked me, his one eyebrow raised. Him letting out a laugh gave me some confidence, but I still don't believe he's human. No one who looks this ethereal could be human. I force myself to look this other-worldly creature straight into his eyes, and I'm really feeling the urge to look away from how bright his eyes are. I muster up all the courage that exists within me, and say, 'Answer me. Who are you?'.

He's properly laughing now, his mouth forming....a rectangle?

' I'm yours. And you're mine.'

And then, I realized.
