Cally P.O.V
Is it possible to want one thing but need it at the same time? I ask this every morning; answers always the same. No. To me want is something you don't have but think you need, but really it's just a small dream. To need something is when it be comes a necessity for survival. They don't cross even when you wish they would.

"Mom!" I begin throwing on my shirt as she walks in. It is early in the morning and I wanted to sleep, she has other plans. "I told you, I refuse to get up before six!"
"Well Clearly I don't listen," she retorts back, flashing her light in my face. Looking around I see my phone. Dead. I look for my Mp3 player. Also, dead.
"Mom mind telling me what time it is? If not let me sleep!" yelling at her with my sleepy teenage attitude. I can tell she picks it up because she flings at me one of her slightly funny death stares. "Mom? Time?"
"Cally? Rude?" Well she isn't very happy this morning. "Sorry. Your dad didn't come home last night-"
"Thank God it ain't midnight. 'Cause I swear mom you would for ever be in my bad graces!"
"I was going to say, 'have you heard from him.' I mean he has done this before," she starts rambling off as she walks out the door.
Last night? I wonder. Recalling last night's events. Aren't I lucky...
"Molly?! Come on! What's gotten in to you? Molly!" I scream. She's been acting up for weeks and I need it to stop.
"Cally, you want to know what's going on? Really?! Glad you asked! My mom's are leaving and handing me off to foster care! Cleo! Little baby Cleo! She is getting separated from me! It's been two weeks and you ask now? NOW!" The rain is getting harder, we're outside her house, no ones home. She turns around and stops her foot on the muddy path. "You've been stuck in your pretty, pink princess world and I'm tired of it, grow up! You know better yet-" she starts to shake as she says the last bit, and breaks, crying, "just get out of my life! Leave me alone!
She runs inside, well I just stand there flabbergasted. I just got dumped, in the rain, I couldn't help but think that over as I walked away, not knowing where I was going. . .
I snap back to reality and realized I started crying. I could hear my mom outside wanting to come in to comfort me. Instead, I go to her. Leaving the blue bed behind and cross the laundry filled floor. I reach her just a few feet away, "Hey?"
"Oh, hey. I was just about to come in. Are you alright? Your face is blotchy and. . . Cally?" her voice gets more high pitched as she finishes her thought.
"Molly. . . Sh-sh-she l-l-left me-me!" I bawl out and lean against the door frame holing my stomach. My mom being her normal comforter walks over and hugs me, places her chin atop my head, and pats my back. Her died read hair falling into my eyes causing me to close them.
"Want me to talk to her? I could sic Rickey on her?" my mom suggests.
Rickey is our three year old soft coated wheaten terrier. He loves every one but her. No, he hates her. Hearing his name he trots over, cocks his head to the side, and starts whining. I sit next to him and starts petting his whit fur. His tail starts to wag the minute I stand up.
I get back up and flick my light switch on, closing my eyes for the bright light that is sure to com. It never comes. I look behind me to ask my mom what's going on but she beats me to it. "The power went out several hours ago," she says slicing a finger across her neck as she does making me laugh. She reaches behind her and pulls out a box. It quickly lights up. Her phone. With the soft blue light on her face she looks more twenty-eight than thirty-nine. "The time is five, forty-three. And. . . school still has power. Go catch your last twenty minutes of sleep you have left."
"Yes, Ma'am!"
