An orb of silver blue sparkled excitedly before settling on to the forehead of a dying sixteen-year-old girl. The sick child had pale skin and blackened blood dripping down her chin. She had black hair laced with dirt and sweat, whip marks, and burn marks on her thin legs and arms, and a thin thread of life still remaining. Just hours ago, she was harshly whipped by servants of manor secretly ordered by her father's concubine. As she struggled to breathe, she suddenly coughed out more blood. The blood ran down her chin soaking into the bed which was already covered in her blood.
Alas, her eyes finally shut and her hand gently fell as she passed on to the afterlife. The orb pulsed and impatiently glowed before it buried itself inside the body. As a new soul settled down within, a sheer blue aura surrounded the body before disappearing. The girl's eyes suddenly snapped open, flashing silver-purple before returning to organical pitch black. A cold smile adorned her face as she looked around her surroundings.
Oh, so even the God of Death didn't want her to pass his gates, she thought.
Did he also dislike 'mixed evil' like her just like the ones who killed her? How rude and here she thought he was the same and even had prepared to meet him.
Oh well, she touched her face and hummed. This body is indeed convenient.
A rush of memories of the former occupant flooded into her head. As she slowly absorbed the information, a smirk crawled up her face. The wise have always said that life continuously cycles in an everlasting circle, so it wasn't a surprise to her that she circled back around another time for another chance in another life. It would be harmful to the Sisters of Fate if they were to accept such a willful and unwilling soul, but it would also be a pity even if they did.
Those sisters must have not much time to play, she mused. However, she did.
Thinking slowly, she started to recollect her new memories and thoughts. In this world, there seemed to be a usage of magic. Everyone in the kingdom had a least some type of power. It was too bad that the previous occupant didn't have much of any of this knowledge because she was treated as an outcast. The former soul was 'normal,' a being without any powers, thus shamed as useless.
She was born in a high-class General's Manor, yet in the end, was killed by a mere servant sent by her father's concubine. It is a pity to say that it is always the higher-class females who harbored blackened hearts so a child like her wouldn't live all that long within the home. The ill child had lived in constant fear and was always surrounded by mockery. In a place having wizardry powers were regarded strongly important, so a 'normal being' had no chance to survive in a harsh society like this. Besides, she was so ill and constantly getting sicker.
'Normals' like her would usually be marked as slaves; however, her big birth title spared her.
Still, surrounded by people eagerly waiting for her to die isn't all that different from being a caged slave working till they die. Always being set up by petty tricks along petty minds would be a challenge to a clueless child; however this will be mere child play for a bloodthirsty siren.
"Your name is quite nice. Red (Hong) as in blood and everchanging like the moon(Yue). I shall take your name as the price for my gift to you. I'll make you an extra grand gift so it won't be just an act of simple revenge. It's a pity your time didn't last long, but I'll take your place, Hongyue." She murmured gently.
