Episode 4 The Sorting Hat/A New House

SH- Well hello there. Hmm I can see that are quite talented. You also have a lot of courage. But even more ambition. You wish to be as powerful as your mom and your aunt. Your family means the world to you. You don't care what house you're in. Your just overjoyed to be here. You are able to find your way home from any part of the woods of Storybrook without magic. As any mary-man should.. The SH spoke directly into Roland's mind.

SH- Slytherin! The SH said allowed to the entire hall.

Roland grinned as the table to his far left cheered. He took off the SH and ran to the Slytherin table and sat beside Roger. A few minutes later Walter was sorted into Gryffindor. The rest of the sorting took about 40 minuets and then the feast started.

Roland- Wow all of this food looks delicious! Roland said excitedly and put some tasty looking fish on his plate.

Then a older boy sat on Roland's other side.

Yang- Hi I'm Yang Umbridge. The Slytherin prefect. My dad's Chinese Yang said happily.

Roland- Do you have a sister named Yin? Roland asked half joking.

Yang- Yay she goes to Beauxbatons. Yang answered while pouring himself some pumpkin-juice.

Roger- Umbridge Umbridge. Were have I heard that name before? Roger said thinking for a second.

Roger- Wait! Your not related to Dolores Umbridge?! Roger asked wide eyed.

Yang- Um yes. She's my aunt. But I assure you I share none of her beliefs. Yang said seriously.

Roger- Ok then. That's good to know. Roger said with a smile.

Roland was trying some lasagna.

Roland- God my mom's lasagna is so much better! Roland said as he reached for some chicken instead.

Yang- Haha. Don't let the house-elfs hear you say that. Yang said before chuckling some more.

As Roland eat he started to wonder if he was muggle-born. He had considered Regina his mom since she started dating his dad and knew next to nothing about his birth-mother. He had never been that interested in learning about her before. He for sure had no magical family on his dad's side. He didn't want to bother his parents with something that seemed so trivial. Then Roland had an idea. He could ask Henry, he was the author after all. He'd surely know something.

The feast lasted about another hour. Afterwords Yang led the first-years to the dungeons were the Slytherin common-room was. Roland's eyes widened. The SCR was hidden behind a massive snake-head statue which opened it's mouth to allow passage. He had read about it of course but it was something else entirely to be right in front of the great snake. As he entered the SCR with the other students Roland smelled wood Burning. The SCR had dark stone walls, low hanging chain lanterns and a crackling fireplace with green fire.

Roland- Wow aunt Z would love it here. Roland thought with a smile.

Roland and Roger went downstairs to the boy's dormitory. Roger was so tired he went straight to bed but Roland had 3 letters to write. Jason was hanging on one of the bed posts sleeping. Roland set down at a large desk by a porthole in the wall. A small cloud of brown smoke formed in front of him and when it disappeared Roland had a quail, vile of ink and 3 sheets of paper in it's place. He picked up the first sheet and began to write.

Roland's letter to Regina and Robin.

( Hi mom. Hi dad.

You guys had better hire a snake-charmer because your son just became a Slytherin! Haha. Joking aside it's amazing being here. I made 2 more awesome friends named Roger and Yang. Roger and I are both got sorted into Slytherin while Walter was sorted into Gryffindor. Roger has a little brother who isn't at Hogwarts yet but his mom was in Ravenclaw. Him and his brother were adopted by a baseball player named George Knox. Yang is a few years older then as but is still really cool. He's actually the Slytherin prefect. The Slytherin common room looks like something straight out of a horror novel, and I mean that in the best way. Stone walls, a fireplace and since it's underground there are portholes that show deep inside the lake.

I'm so excited to be here. I'll write again soon.

( Hi aunt Z. Hi little Kiki.

I hope you're having a great vacation in Rome.

You'd better hire a snake-charmer because your nephew/big brother just became a Slytherin! Haha joking aside it's amazing being here. The Slytherin common room is so gothic. You'd love it. I mean it has a fireplace with GREEN fire! I've make some more great friends. Each of them is so different and so cool. I actually wanted to ask you something. On the train ride here I was eating some magic candy and I had a chocolate-frog. The card had your picture on it aunt Z. I was wondering why you never mentioned that you have been to this realm?

Again I hope both are having a great time.

Roland's letter to Henry.

( Hi Henry.

You had better hire a snake-charmer because your little brother just became a Slytherin! Haha joking aside it's amazing being here. I hope your drawing is going well. I know you like to it when ever you have a moment. It's so great to be at real magic school. Don't get me wrong both mom and aunt Z are amazing teachers, but I haven't had any classes yet and I've already learned so much. I have already made 2 more friends who are both so cool. I can't wait for you to meet them. You'll never believe this but aunt Z has a chocolate-frog card. I asked her about in her and Little Kiki's letter.

I was hoping you could help me with something? As everyone was eating dinner I started thinking about my birth-mother. Is any way you could find out if she herself or any her family had any magic? Just wondering if I'm muggle-born or not. I obviously know that it doesn't matter. I'm just curious. I didn't ask mom and dad about it. Just seemed unnecessary to bother them with this. And I love just having things between you and me. It's getting late so I should start getting ready bed.

Don't want to miss any classes on my first day.

After Roland sealed all 3 envelopes he gently woke Jason by rubbing his pinky on the bat's tummy. As he woke up Jason yawned.

Roland- Hey there Jason I have job for you. Roland said just as he showed the bat the 3 letters. He tied them to his leg Jason gave a upsidedown nod. After he was done a cloud of brown smoke formed around Jason and when it disappeared he had reappeared just outside the castle. Roland was so glad and intrigued that the magic he had been taught was so different from the magic in this world.

As Roland got into bed he thought about how lucky he was to be a wizard. It truly was a dream come true. But he also wondered when he'd feel comfortable he's new friends that he was a prince because he knew now wasn't the right time.

A/N

So I used as much as I could find about the Slytherin common room. I had improvise the entrance and the boy's dormitory. The reason I didn't explain the SCR in Henry's letter was I just got board of it. Other than that I'm having so much fun.
