The Start Of Goodbye (Unfinished)

Well, hello there. If you suddenly find yourself in possession of this diary and stumble upon the first page, please don't hesitate to keep on reading. This notebook of mine found itself in your hands for a reason. If you don't want to read it, though, don't throw it away! Instead, I'd appreciate it if you could just pass it on to whomever. But I don't really have much of a say on what you do with it since my diary is in your hands. Live life however you please.

Woah! What an overwhelming first paragraph, am I right? That introduction was waaay too long, but if you made it through that then you're most likely even the slightest bit curious about what I have to say, right? Probably.

My name is Mary. On the 24th of August, my clock started ticking down. I guess all our clocks start ticking down the moment we come into being, but that's not the point. I was young - barely at the peak of adolescence, but life can be unpredictable like that.

I started writing this on a whim. I was never even a fan of diaries, or even writing. Maybe this is my own way of leaving a part of my mind and soul behind after the flesh and bone has gone back to the earth.

Just kidding. I am fairly certain this is just a coping mechanism for my little, shocked brain.

Also, you might be wondering, what's with the fancy words and on point punctuation marks?

Well, a person's gotta make a nice first impression, yeah? But I know that after a few entries, all of that fancy-shmancy nonsense would deteriorate. Just like how any other person would start removing their masks more and more as they get comfortable with certain people.
