I walked up the steps to the porch of my old house in Tulsa, Oklahoma. We share it with my Uncle Soda and my Cousin Samantha, everyone calls her Sam. My Uncle and Dad lived here all there life. My dad couldn't give it up. Just to many memories I guess. My Uncle Soda and Sam ain't have enough to live on their own. My dad don't mind, he loves soda! They've always been close. I've always been told that having a sibling is hard... I wouldn't know I ain't got one, although Sam's kinda like a sister since we live together an all. Me and her share my Uncle Darry's room and my dad and Uncle Soda have there own rooms. Sam ain't got a mom either. Hers ran away when Soda asked her to marry him. He's never really been good with finding the right girl. Probably cause of his looks. My dad showed me pictures of him back in the day. He was real good lookin! He still is now! He attracts all types of girls. Sam just ignores it. I knew she wished her mom stayed. Even if she always told me she didn't care about her. I knew she did. My Uncle Darry aint around much. Him and my dad got into a fight and it ended up with Darry movin out to Texas. Dad regrets it and begs him to come back every time he comes to visit. But Darry just tells him that theres no room, that dad got a family to take care of now it was ganna happen sooner or later and that hes done his job of taking care of him. After tellin him that he always hugs him. I wish i got siblings, I kinda consider the gang as my siblings though since their always around. There aint any gangs around anymore well at least not like there where when my dad was young. Not many greasers either but we're still here!

I turned the handle of the door, pushed it, and walked in. My dad looked up from the paper.

"Hey Cand's." He said.

Yea thats what people call me for short idk why... It aint even a name but i just go with it.

"Hi daddy." I replied walking in.

"Why dontcha get your shower then go to sleep ya got school tomorrow. Your homeworks all done right?" He asked. "yea." I replied while walking into me and Sams room and to the bathroom to take my shower.

Soda always said my dad was startin to be like Darry when they where younger. Always working too hard and worrying too much. And Darry would always reply with a smile "God I hope not."

Once I finished my shower I got out and went to bed. Sam and Soda weren't home yet. Probably when i'm asleep. Soda was like that. Always trying to have fun. I wish dad was like that. Don't get me wrong I love dad more then anything. Its just I hate that hes always working... I just want him happy like Soda. Soda wishes he wouldn't work so hard too he talks to him a lot a night, trys to cheer him up. I just want him to be happy...
