1989, September 1st
"Wake up you twat we're going to be late for school!" I heard a distinctive voice shout from downstairs. "fu*k, what time is it Liam?" I responded. "It's 7:09 and yeh better get yeh lazy a** up or we're gonna miss the bus y/n." Liam responded in his thick British accent while skimming the house to find his neat but costly brogues. "fine." I groaned. I snatched my skirt and shirt from the closet and put it on without a second thought and ran downstairs for my backpack, got my socks on, and put on my brogues. I knew I looked like utter crap with my messy hair and dark bags but I certainly wasn't gonna be late for school today.

"Hey. You look like hell." Albarn said. He was leaning against a green locker placed beside me with a mischievous look smothered all across his face. "Go away All-Bran I'm not in the mood for your pathetic jokes." I replied in agony. I was fancying a cup of coffee to get rid of the debilitating state I was in, which I could have fixed if I wasn't running late to school. "Can you let me be for once? I'm just trying to live a normal life and be a decent human being-" "Yeah well I'm bored and I need some sort of entertainment." Damon followed me to class after I filled my backpack with heavy textbooks for class with the smug smile still imprinted onto his face. I still didn't understand the logistics of liking him. Every girl in the school awed him, but I found nothing appealing about him. I rolled my eyes. God please have mercy on me I don't have much patience left oh please, I internally prayed. I looked up at the khaki ceiling in an attempt to ignore him but he kept getting in my way and blocking my path.  Finally I looked at him, seething, and told him, "All Bran, I'm not looking for a fight but my fists are saying otherwise so get out of my way befor-" "whaAaAaaaA" Damon said before falling onto the slippery ground and dragging me with along with him as he tried to reposition himself on me and failing. "Damn it Albarn-you idiot! There was water there!" I screamed as the bell rang. "sh*t, sorry mate that wasn't planned" Damon responded in a low voice. "Shoot DAMON you ruined my brogues!!" I whispered as if yelling. Damon chuckled. "As if this were funny, that was one of the only pairs of shoes that were in good condition Damon." I told him as I rolled my eyes but he just kept on snickering. We both tried to get up at the same time and ended up entangled in each other's arms at one point, only stopping to blush. A couple of people were running late but they ran right past us which I thank the Lord for. I proceeded to stand up and glared at him. He stared back at me in discomfort laying restlessly on the floor in a sort of cowardly position which I became proud of. I usually wasn't the person people were afraid of, and it gave me some sort of power over him.

Damon's POV:
It felt like she was examining my soul in and out. Usually that was my thing but the tables had turned and it felt a tad bit weird. The hallways were desolate with only us and no other outside noise with the exception of the muffled noises coming from the classrooms near us. It was one of the only times I've ever felt so exposed and frankly a bit vulnerable. My mates are at class and they're probably wondering where the f*ck I am. Surely they'll be pissed when I enter the doors of the classroom. But I have to say, y/n was rather cute when she was flustered and angry.

Y/N POV:
I continued to glare at him, feeling as if though he was going to plan something but he never did. I never saw him so fearful and in a way he looked like a cute, little puppy with two big, bold eyes. But I shouldn't be gawking over him and I realized that he was still the idiot that made me late. Soon I loosened up a bit and it wasn't until I started walking to the classroom that he started to get up. The walk to class was silent but slow and we both stared at the ground and occasionally shared glances, but it only lasted for about a split second and our eyes would gravitate itself toward the ground again.
