- But, dad, please ... - I tried to argue for the tenth time.
- No, that's enough Matt. I don't wanna hear it anymore.
- Daad... - once more I tried.
- Look, son, I know you have your friends here, you are starting senior year soon, but uncle Ethan really needs help this summer. And, beyond that, Stacey just broke up with you, I really think it you'll have a good time, maybe make some new friends.
- Does Mom even know about that? - I asked, pointing that maybe if she didn't know yet, she wouldn't let me leave.
- Yes, she does. - He said, making clear that it was actually obvious.
I sighed, admitting defeat. I turned my back to my father and went upstairs, not before hearing he yelling:
- Pack your packs, Matt, we are leaving tomorrow after lunch.
Just after that, I jumped in my bed, closing my eyes.
I don't know, maybe it wouldn't be that bad. Still, I couldn't believe they would let me go just like that. I had plans, you know. Guess I would have to change that. I soon fell asleep, hoping I had been dreaming all day long.
