an outsider among constellations

ONE

(A/N) Most of the story will, of course be in Ophiuchus' point of view. I may want to switch it if I do, I will put an author's note, but this will not be one, this is just a heads-up.

   "Hey," Polaris smiled over the decent numbered crowd surrounding him, mostly asking for school activities and such.
He waved over at me.
"Oph-" He got cut off by Virgo, the vice president.

I couldn't exactly read their lips, but I know it's something about school. Personally, I really like school. At home, I do absolutely nothing. I like doing something to keep myself busy... to not feel worthless.

The tall brunet came closer to me and continued what he was saying earlier.
"Ophiuchus! There's some good news," He put his arms over my shoulder and led me to the bulletin board and pointed at the number seven.

"It's you, Oscar! You did well on the exams." Polaris smiled at me.
"Anyways, gotta go. Vi's gonna get mad at me for being late!" He dashed off to the west, where the student council room was located.

I did well on the exams, he said. Hmm, sure I did. The exam wasn't really for anything though, it was just the CTE which is the Constellation Training Exams, that is basically training of how constellations work. If you get a really good score on this, you get a bonus on the next really really important exams. First gives you a 10% bonus, and me being seventh gives me a 3% one.

I study at the IAU, International Astronimical University. This school are for the founded constellations. Now, you may be wondering why Polaris is here... since he's a star and not a constellation. He got in here because he was a very special star, no offense to other stars though. He's just really spectacular in a way nobody can copy.

"Decent." I heard a familiar voice, that I know all too well, Miss Taurus.
I looked at her and she ignored me.
She got first as usual, no biggie.
Taurus is 1/12 of the TTT. They are also known as the Zodiacs, which are some talented, intelligent, nice, artistic, musically and food talented people. One of them are bad though, he's Pisces.

The bell rings, symbolizing the end of our classes. My school is pretty weird.
We have a different way of running things around here, especially the '30 Minute Star Shack' which is basically 30 minutes to impress the principal, and if you do impress, you get free canteen food for a month. We do this every 2 months though.

I walked over to the exit, quickly as the other constellations are quite the excited ones to go home.
I stood infront of the academy, NASA (National Astrophysical Stars Academy)
Waiting for a particular friend of mine, Canopus.
Canopus is my dog. She hangs out here while waiting for me.

"Hey there, honey." I patted her head.
Canopus is actually a real dog, but being a star gives her special attributes. Like being able to light the darkness and burn something. She can turn this off and on through my command.

"Let's walk home, buddy."
We walked towards a particular place, The Sky Haven.
The Sky Haven is a home for constellations, though we normally have to go up by walking a long staircase, approximately 410 steps.
"Gah." I frowned. This staircase is really getting on my nerves. Could they atleast build an elevator?!

I finally reached the top.
"I love being a constellation but I'm lazy so I really don't." I muttered.
I walked over to Haven 13, where I live and inserted the key.
My neighbor Pisces, a rather mean fellow, opened his door. I was surprised to see a lot of confetti come out. I wonder what happened. Anyways, I shouldn't put my nose into other people's stuff.

My haven was a pretty standard one, just me and Canopus.
I opened up my phone for a while and saw Polaris text me about five minutes ago.

Parker : I'm serious, Ophiuchus

Oscar : what

Parker : bruh
Parker : tommorow is virgo's birthday and
(let's just pretend ok?)

Oscar : oh MY GOD PARKER
Oscar : stOp BEING SO ANGSTY
Oscar : juSt give her a present

Parker :  i don't know what to give her though??

Oscar : duh, give her something that comes from your heart.

Parker : My brightness??? I can't do that

Oscar :  bye

Polaris can get pretty dumb sometimes.

"OPHIUCHUS!" His voice rang, this person seems to be in my head alot.
"Open the goddamn door!" Polaris shouted, bursting my eardrums slowly but surely.
"What do you want?!" I opened the door.

"Can you.... please tell me what you mean about comes from the heart?" He looked at me with puppy eyes and how can I not resist? Before this, let me explain why he got here. At the left of the Sky Haven is the Night Sanctuary, basically a place for stars.

"I meant, something that you feel. We all know you really like Virgo, Parker." I smiled at him.
"So like my love?"
I nodded.
"Show her how much you love her, and how much you really wanna take care of her and-"

blonk

"Oh my god, what's that?" Polaris eyed me with a face that says half scared and half confused.
"I just hope it isn't them."
"I know, we don't have the second station anymore. We'll be helpless." He sighed.
"I don't want us to be wiped out again, like what happened to our ancestors, it was pretty tragic for Orion."

"Indeed."

Let me explain what Polaris said, first of all, brightness.
The brightness resides in all of the ones in the sky, the moon, planets and the stars.
Brightness can be given from a star to a star but never to star to a moon/planet.
It's basically a source of power and they need it to survive, the more time they spend in the dark, the more bright you can produce.

Now about them,  I will not explain it today. In the future** (lmao i mispelled it as futute) chapters I will.
