What is it that I hear?

What is it that I hear?

Is it the crying of a child in the distant,

When his mother no longer shares his love?

Or the heartbroken pain of a father,

When his son never returned from his journey to the sun?

Or the millions of lives that sit dearly, wishing and praying to be free -

For we all know that rainbows are merely an image,

A phenomenon for us to embrace.

Or is it the uproar of the city, when the squatter man answers to his cold,

And lives freely where he is told not to be

By men cloaked in riches and corrupt glitters, who have never held our lives with care.

Is it the dawn of a new age? Or the end of what we know?

What is it I hear, O father I'd love to be told.
