Question: what is the greatest problem your generation faces?

Today's world presents ever growing challenges for today's youth. While many are aware of movements such as March for our lives or things such as climate change, little action takes place to do what's right; some even go so far as to attempt to silence movements such as these. With the fast chaos of life, the greatest problem that youth face today is inheriting the world along with its challenges, but in order to solve the problems facing our planet, we must have a planet on which to solve them.

For the most part, the energy that provides power to our daily living is derived form non renewable sources. When these sources of energy are produced, along with it comes carbon emissions. These emissions heat the atmosphere by allowing solar rays to enter but not escape, thus locking in the heat. The term used for this occurrence is global warming.

Although globally there is little use of it, renewable energy sources are available and ready to go. Countries such as Germany have already taken measures to stride towards greener fuel, and we as youth need to take note in order to insure that we have a future.  In December of 2018, the country closed down its last coal mine, officially putting an end to their coal industry. Germany now plans to redirect the money invested towards renewable energy. Taking note on countries of example like Germany will assist in forming a plan for a greener future. By going green, we can insure that our future will be long-lasting and better for all life on earth.

In our lifetime, today's youth will have to work faster to prevent climate change than any generation before. While the problem of non renewable energy is a great one, we can take a look back on history's mistakes and use them to prevent us from repeating them again in the future, and we can look at countries with low carbon emissions for an example and for help. With some help and a plan we can work together towards a greener, long lasting future that will not only benefit us, but other species and the worlds ecosystem as a whole.
