"If you think you'll have a quirk in your next life... Go take a swam dive off the roof!!"
After saying those words, Bakugo left with his gang, leaving Midoriya shaking on the floor. It was a common situation. Before, during or after class, Bakugo was always messing with him. But this time it was worse.
The room fell silent as everyone went outside. In Midoriya's head, his bully's words kept echoing. 'Go take a swam dive off the roof, take a swam dive off the roof, dive off the roof...'
The green-haired boy dropped his bag and headed towards the window. After a moment of hesitation he opened it and looked down. He noticed his notebook floating on the pond. Bakugo knew how important it was for Midoriya and yet he threw it out of the window, after exploding it. It was like throwing away his dreams, destroying all he believed in.
Midoriya knew that a window was not a roof, but in that case they weren't that different, were they? As he kept staring down, a million thoughts came across his mind. 'How long would it take for me to fall? How much would it hurt? Would I die? Would I regret it if I survived?'
All those unanswered questions and he could only focus on Katsuki's words.
Izuku climbed to the window and turned his back outside. He had already made up his mind bet he would have kept hesitating if he stared at the floor. Then, Bakugo rushed back into the room. He had seen Midoriya from the street.
"Stop Deku! What the hell are you doing?!"
There was an urgent tone in his voice. It made Midoriya think again. But as he looked back and saw his life goals crushed on the street, he understood there was no going back.
"Don't!"
Bakugo started to slowly make his way in Midoriya's direction.
Izuku could almost believe that his childhood friend was worried about him. If it wasn't for the burnt scent that still came from his shoulders he could have believed.
And just like that he let himself fall, closing his eyes so that Bakugo would be the last thing he would ever see. Katsuki ran towards the window, not making it in time.
'Sorry mom. Sorry Kaachan. I'll never cry again.'
