Rain drops fell from the sky above damping the Earth making Scanty muddy puddles appear in the garden from my Window sill I beheld the soil's drenched death. Screams of Laughter and Joy echoed around the small neighborhood as, minuscule footsteps ran along the sidewalk skipping into the tears of the clouds. Envy rattled my emotions, the desire to be outside with the other children jabbed my heart.

On countless occasions I have pleaded to my mother kneecaps pressed against the Wooden floor, face redden, tears streaming down my rosy cheeks, to let me outside to play and, on each occasion she declined claiming it was too dangerous. Locked away in my bedroom I watched the world from my Window as, it darken into danger just as mother had said.

No longer can I hear the cries of mirth solely, silence the beautiful garden outside my window is no more. Years have passed by and, still I've never been outside.   On my tenth birthday I had attempted to sneak out only to be, trapped once again in our home by mother.

At the age of Seventeen it was finally explained to me. Seated in her office she unveil the true reasoning behind my barricade life.

"Your father and I, long ago before you were born once ruled the kingdom with an iron fist moreover, we committed a vast of appalling acts I'm not proud of-" she paused for a moment to look at me. "And Our actions have brought a parting fate to our kind as well as, you Aine" standing to her feet she beckon for me to follow her.

My feet creaked against the Wooden floorboards likewise, with each step the grip on my sweater tighten. My emotions swirled inside of me like, a tornado of confusion and corruption leaving me unsure on what to feel.

The sound of the locks opening accost my ears was this really happening? My insides scream with glee, freedom dispensed onto my awaking taste buds.

I had always imagined my first steps outside the confinement of my home to be flooded with sounds of birds chirping and, the warm feeling of sunshine on my pale skin. Vile attempted to rise to my throat distinctly tastes of acid buzzed on my tongue making me feel sick.

Littered around each home were tombstones the gloomy sky above watched over the covered graves this was nothing like I had pictured the outside world to be.

"Where's the-" I struggle internally to find the words to speak. "She was only a baby, I can still see the sadness her mother's eyes held before we took her life as well" A soft gasp unraveled from my mouth diffusing into the decaying atmosphere.

My parents are murderers...Am I next on their list? What does this make me?

"Please don't kill me" I begged pathetically groveling at my mother's feet  not bearing the courage to look at her face   as, I pleaded for my life. No words were spoken among us as she drew one look at me her face emotionless and blank "My own child is afraid of me" she mumbled under her breath although, her words came out as clear as day light.

Her hand rested on my shoulder "I need you to show the world that we did at least one thing right, we need you to save you're fallen sisters" she smiled meekly.

"What do you mean?" I questioned her my voice sounding weak.

"There's a virus spreading among the realm notably, it seems to be only affecting the female population and you Aine darling are the last she wolf"

"Wait but, you're a she Wolf"

" I'm already dying Aine"

"You can't you're the Moon goddess" looking  at her with new open eyes I noticed the small signs of illness in her face.

"Everyone dies Aine but, you're here to replace me" she smiled placing a light kiss on my forehead

" To do this you must find your mate following, my death I'm leaving a decree to Open the Mating Season, Your guardian Lisa will guide you through the season"

Everything around me seem to be happening so fast I had already lost father before I was born and now I was losing the woman who gave me life.

" Aine?" My mother called looking down at me.

"Yes mother" I held onto her hand tightly, "Promise me you'll leave to the human realm tonight before death takes me" she asked.

Shock and disbelief was all that I could feel at the utter of her proposal, every nerve in my body was screaming for me to disagree with her proposal but I found myself saying the words she wanted to hear.

"I promise mother" those words echo into my ears.

Once again she flashed a genuinely happy smile at me standing to her feet slowly, she looked at me running her thin fingers through my loose hair.

"Orion would be proud of you" My father would be proud of me for letting my mother die I highly doubt that I wanted someone to pinch me and tell me this wasn't happening consequently, then  her eyes closed as her eyelashes kissed her pale cheeks.
