Abandoned

    "Mom I would be okay. It's just for two weeks not like I'm going for a year" I said trying to get my mom to stop packing stuffs I won't be needing for my school field trip. 

"I'm only doing this for you, you've never been away from home for that long and p.s you would be needing all this... I've got to get to work" My mom said standing up and giving me the 'you've got no choice' look and left me to do the rest of the packing. I gave up trying to convince her that most of the things she parked would be useless to me on the trip. So that was how i ended up with two over packed big suitcases and a box filled with skincare Products (my backpack and my camera included).

        *I love my mom but I hate the fact that she is overprotective and also how she wants me to be that 'little miss perfect' that everyone admires. I've been trying hard to live up to that and believe me when I say it's exhausting trying to live a lifestyle you don't enjoy*

        I called Eli who's my classmate and also best friend, to ask him when he would be picking me up. I just didn't want my mom dropping me off at school knowing the fact that she is a drama queen and always seize every slightest opportunity to be the center of attraction anywhere she finds herself and heaven knows I'm wasn't  in the mood for that today.

         Finally I was done packing up my camera and making sure I wasn't forgetting anything. I'm inlove with photography and the thought of MEXICO being my class destination for the trip excited me. Maybe because I've never been on a plane before and  I would be going to the one place I've always wanted to go since I was a kid .. couldn't stop thinking of how nice the pictures would be and how much fun I'm going to have. Just then my phone buzzed getting me out of dream world . I checked to see who was calling and it was Eli.

"Hey what's up" I asked while trying to get my camera into its bag with my free hand.

"I'm in front of your house, better bring your ass out right now or  we are gonna miss the bus that would be taking us to the airport" Eli said sounding really impatient. We were ordered to be in school on time coz a bus was arranged to transport us to the airport.

"Oh please stop the whining, you just got here..... I'm coming down now" I was about hanging up before my eyes fell on my luggage. I couldn't possibly carry all that myself... ooh no no no..

" and hey come help me with some stuffs" I added and disconnected the phone before he could say any other thing". 

You should try to imagine the shock on his face when he saw all that I've packed. It took him minutes before he regained his speech.

"You can't be serious,you want to take all these with you?"...."Ella this is toooooooo much.. can't you go with just one suitcase?"

"Yeah. I know.. you know what my mom is like. She is the one responsible for this.

"Uhm ok. I guess you had no choice but to go with what she wants" Eli said picking up one of my suitcase then he looked at me and frowned.

"For Christ sake Ella, Do you have the whole world's possession in here?" He asked while trying to get the suitcase past my bedroom door. Leaving me staring at his well formed back in admiration. Eli has grown to be super attractive and he is currently the hottest guy at our school. though he has always been attractive since we were kids (like he was cute then but now he is HOT) and it actually makes me proud to think the hottest and most popular guy in my school is my best friend (even though I'm quite popular myself). Hehehe cheesy right!!

        When we got downstairs, my mom wasn't there I guessed she left for work already. And to show I was right I found a letter on the kitchen table saying:

                 *Hey baby! I miss you sooo much 
                   Already.
                 Two weeks is a long           
                  time, Make sure to have lots of fun.
                   Call me when you get there.
                                             Love MOM 💋

         I went out to meet Eli and he was arranging my things at the back of his car. I simply got in the front and waited for him to join me.
         I closed my eyes and smiled. trying to bring up my own imagination of MEXICO ..

                         'MEXICO here I come'
