Grayson's POV

One month before school

My mom is putting the last box inside the van while I grab my last few personal items. Walking out my room, I take one last tour through the house, thinking about all of the memories I made here. Ahhh I'm sure gonna miss this place I thought to myself.

"Honey let's go. We don't want to get stuck in traffic," my mom, Katie, says from the doorway. I look at her and sigh, looking down. Shaking my head I walk towards her. Once we get inside the car and have the movers meet us at the new house, we drive off. I take one last glance, watching the house before it gets out of view.

"Mom, I hope the next people that live in that house will take care of it," I say while looking at her.

"Me too, honey. Me too. Hey, come on don't look so down. We are still gonna be living together. A home isn't a place or thing that you live at or stay at, it's where you are together with everyone you all love and care for so much," my mom says trying to comfort me and lifting my chin and wiping away my tears.

"I know mom. I just wish dad was with us," I say looking her. "Me too honey. He wouldn't want us crying after him. I know I cried so much after him, but we have to be strong him, okay?" she says at the stop light and looking at me.

"Okay mom. I love you mom," "I love you too honey. Now come on and bust out the music and put on some country," she says and smiling. Knowing that country music is something that we sung together to. A lot of people say that we have the most wonderful voices and that we can sing anything, everything. But country is our specialty. I bluetooth my phone to the car and put on Life is a Highway by Rascal Flatts.

For the next 5 hours we were singing along to country music and going to our new home.

(Let me tell you who I am. My name is Greyson Connor. I am 17 years old. My mom's name is Katie Connor. She is 32 years old. She had me when she was 15. My dad passed away recently to cancer. He would've been 33 this year. We were moving because my mom got this way better paying job, but she was not gonna stop spending time with me. So she demanded that they would follow her time, and her pay. They surprisingly agreed. My mom jumped at it and now here we are. Driving to our new home. To West Miller. It sounds like a really small place. But it is actually well known. And lot of people live there, although the community is familiar with each other. So we should stand out pretty well. I don't really care. My mom on the other hand will go out of her way to be very friendly with others. She will help others with their kids. She will bring a sick neighbor soup just to feel better. She will give money to those in need. I guess that's where I get my manners. But I'm quite the opposite. I can be very rude. Just only to those who actually deserve it. I'm very unsocial. Not entirely anti-social, but not full out social, like my mom. Anyways, there's this school that I'm suppose to go to next month. Me and my mom are suppose to go on a tour next week. Yup that's my life. Not to big, not to small. Just right.
