Two sisters were princesses of a jade wood
As her psyche was wise, the older was Sophia
As her eyes were like stars, the younger was Estelle
Their father was held by a magician everything but good
Until his captor lost power, he'd sleep and never stir
The villain sought Sophia's hand and she rejected boldly
Coldly, he banished them from home and each other
Before they even cried farewell
The sisters were once royalty, but now separately housed oiketai
Estelle became a merchant's and Sophia a king's
Obedient and reliable they became, though they loved each other as before
They prayed and longed for each other as time went by
Callous and demanding their masters behaved
Sophia almost turned stone when she could rest
Estelle gladly slept in soil and never wanted to get up
Neither knew their lives would soon change forevermore
Estelle's fellow slave and dear friend Blaise, slept with dreams worrying
He moaned in his sleep, she roused him and petrified
In his dream he was burning alive and a kind man wet the blaze
He then asked him to go to the tomb of Pericles hurrying
Where he and his party was to eat the fruit of a mulberry tree
Estelle knew it was her father, thus they soon headed out
Sophia had the same dream and rushed to the grave in her rags
The travelers encountered and sisters embraced with amaze
Meanwhile the magician had seized the captor king
His kingdom now under more ruthless forces and rules
He found Sophia was a slave to this house and escaped
He called that her friends and self men would bring
To him so she'd suffer for her marital refusal
The trio endured their odyssey by generous and self-sacrificing behavior
Even their lives they'd forsake for their companions
Faced with beasts they all supported, faced with boredom they all japed
They hurried to Pericles' tomb and ate the fruit of a mulberry tree
Shyly they realized they had no directions afterwards
Estelle found shelter with a widow to rest and discuss the next day
At dawn they heard cross footsteps and tried to flee
But soldiers abundant as grass seized and struck them
They waited in a damp cell for the magician condemned them to flames
For her friends' death rather than her own Estelle sobbed
If only she found someone who wouldn't betray
Estelle slumped on the floor like she was already dead
She stayed miserable and motionless despite her friends consolation attempts
Crying, "If only I burned and you both were still slaves!"
Her friends embraced her simultaneously, their own surrounded her head
Sophia softly whispered, "I will love you unto death and ever after."
Blaise then likewise said "Today and hereafter as will I."
Smiling while crying, Estelle returned their synchronized affection
Now reminded even if they died they'd be reborn in their graves
The magician sat high in the theater to seal his prisoners' end
He saw them led out and tied to their stakes with the attention of an eagle
With her bound hands, Estelle prayed their killers, mercy would obtain
Fire flogged them and it would till the end, but then the theatre in chaos did descend
The magician suddenly vanished and the event filled the mass with fright
Some wet the blazes, the ropes were singed but the heroes were safe
The wood king suddenly flew to their side on a jade Pegasus
The reunion was more than enough reward for their recent pain
They all boarded the horse and the king explained the events as they flew
The mulberry's magic feeds off the true beauty of the consumer
Then if adequate it would vanquish evil and aid the pure and upright
The magic protected the victims and turned the villain to a shrew
The magician would turn human when he became kind and told the truth
Soon they found his kingdom wood, their home until their true one
Though they were just friends before, Estelle and Blaise fell in love one day
The four ruled justly and lived joyfully as they followed the world's true light
