The Hell Complex

prologue

            "Benjamin honey, is it just me or do I smell smoke?" asked a mother to her husband, the question echoing through the large house's rooms and hallways breaking a long standing silence. She was not wrong, she had been smelling smoke for the last 10 minutes, and had tried to ignore it until now, when it had gotten too bad to ignore. "Uh it's not just you, I smell it..." Responded Benjamin, who had been silently panicking about it for the last few minutes. Suddenly, without warning, flames started to spread extremely fast, consuming everything it can touch, like a hungry lion. Ben scooped up his two very children, Alex, the older one, and Kayden, the one who was bored not too long ago.

            He ran over To Danny, who was playing with his toys, and grabbed him by the wrist and ran out the door. Danny went along with his father, but he silently worried about his mother, as did Ben. As the mother was making her way to the front door to get out, she saw an extremely large, humanoid shaped shadow fall upon her. She immediately knew who it was as she started to shake violently and collapsed. "Please let me leave! I need to stay alive for them, I don't wanna leave without them!" The mother begged as her head felt like it was spinning.

            "They will join you in hell soon enough Mary..." they respond, towering over Mary, as she started to cough up blood. At this point the house had been fully engulfed in flames. Mary held to the last sliver of energy and hope she had left, as she lost consciousness and the last of that hope. "Mom is still in there!" cried Danny, who was trying to run back into the house to save his mother. "Danny I'm sorry, but we can't go back inside, the fire department is on their way, if we went back in we would just end up trapped too," responded Ben, holding back Danny, trying not to start crying. Ben felt himself freeze up as he saw something he had been wishing he wouldn't see. A tall humanoid figure walked out of the house in the distance and made its way into the darkness before disappearing from sight.
