Abderos of Ancient Abdera

Xanthippi  woke up early, lit the fire and awakened her husband, Ergino and her son Abdero. Abderos left Galateia his little sister to sleep and prepared to follow his father. Erginos stood up anxiously that day. He had to prepare an order of vases for the gifts of the great philosopher Demokritos, to his great friend Hippocrates, who, because of his profession, used small pots to put his therapeutic preparations. But his materials were not enough, so Abderos had to go buy materials, colors from Xanthi.

To reach his destination quickly he thought of cutting off the huge cave at the foot of the mountain near the Sea. So he goes to the cave and after walking about 10 kilometers he comes to a city, after 2.500 years, very different from the Xanthi he knew. A modern, new city that he had never seen. And now he found himself on this beach with so many people!!! It looked very much like the beach of Avdira, Myrodato. It was particularly surprising when he saw people almost naked. He was embarrassed and left.

He began to walk on a path completely unknown to him because he comes from the past. After two hours of walk he reached a large lake, which was the fourth largest lake in Greece with 227 bird species and was called Vistonida. He sat there for a long time admiring the beautiful view of the herons. Birds with long legs. They made a great impression to him.

Then he left by taking a long and wide road. Then he reached a big square where everyone was wearing some strange clothes and not tunics. In front of him was a huge oblong building that had something circular on it and there were needles in it. It looked like the watch. And yet it was the city clock on the central square. It made a great impression to him and saw a small and beautiful shop on his left. He went inside and was given a chocolate candy with chocolate. It was called karioka.

He started eating and asked about the long building. It was the clock of the city, in the central square.
