Sally and I were walking down the Nukleární park like any other ordinary day. We were walking on the path near the woods when my sister all of a sudden stopped. She did it so unexpectedly that I almost tripped over (similar to how those rich ladies trip over nothing) trying to stop in time.
Sal had a frightened expression on her face. That was all it took for me to feel my temper start to boil. There was one thing that I can't stand and that is seeing my sister scared or harmed in any way.
Anyway, she stopped and started to glance around her repeatedly as if there was something wrong. "Sal, what is it? Did you see anything out of the ordinary," I asked. "Jack, I am scared, I want to go home," She said it in such a panicked voice that yet again did I feel rage course through my veins. "Jack, I feel a strange aura around here," she finished. I stopped for a second.
She was telling the truth. How have I not notice it before? I should have sensed that as soon as I stepped into the park. "Jack let's just go home," she pleaded. Rrr, now she's scared!! My teeth were clenched to the point that I thought my teeth would break. She's probably right but I can't let her know that. Better try one of my tricks. "But Sally, you just begged me to take you out to the park," I said. "I know, but I want to go home now," Sal respond. "It's okay, there's nothing out there that would hurt or harm you in any way," I reassured. There better not be!! "Sal, come on let's jus..."
Out of the corner of my eyes, I saw something glinting in the woods. Is that a sneak-o-scope or... "DUCK Sally!!" Bullets started spraying across the section of the park that we were in. "RUN SALLY RUN!! DON'T STOP, JUST KEEP RUNNING," I shouted at the top of my lungs. I started to run myself. I ran as fast as I possibly could. Good thing that I run 3 miles a day for a warm up before my workout session.
Hey, what happened to the sound of the gu... The shooting ceased so abruptly that I barely was able to notice it. Damn it, not again, how do I keep being so ignorant to the potential threat of suspicion. Can you believe it? I was paying too much attention to running away for my life that I wasn't able to register that I wasn't actually being shot at. So why was I running with a series of twists and turns to avoid being shot at by nonexistent bullets?
I turned my head around while remaining at top speed to see if there was anything behind us. There, on the path that we just dashed through like the original, long since dead Usain Bolt, was ...nothing? What the..? I slowly decelerated so I would not twist my ankles or anything. I looked back to double check. There, by the bushes on the exterior perimeter of the woods, was ...nothing. Plain nothing, not even with a cherry on top. I searched for my sister and saw that she was also steadily slowing down. She looked back and we made eye contact. It all happened so fast that it was only instinct and years worth of reflexes that saved my life right there and then. As soon as we made eye contact, Sal's eyes' looked alarmed, even frightened.
My mind was comprehending that little bit of information so quickly and efficiently that it only took a sec to figure what must have caused her to look so horrified. They were right behind me. Also, judging by the sound of the barely noticeable buzzing sound, they had something up their sleeves. It may seem like it took a reasonable few to first, wonder why Sal looked so disturbed, second, jump to the conclusion that something was right behind me, only a several meters away to be exact. I could tell, I was trained to be able to do that. Amazingly, that isn't even that cool if you actually knew what I am able to do in my fullest extent.
Anyway, it may not seem a lot for you but a big and swift (again I am capable of knowing that kind of info) being that near you in that kind of speed, you wouldn't exactly appreciate that. 100% guaranteed you wouldn't. You would probably jump out of your clothes and start running towards... nowhere since you would be dead by the time you even start to react) and third, to start to run as if the very devil was behind me. But it actually did only take a few secs (as I previously stated) to do all that!!
