Wrote this a couple years ago for English homework. Thought I'd put it here because why the heck not?

Main Task : Write a story in the same style as the story 'White' that we read in class. It's a story with different POVs that are explained through one adjective following 'The...' as you see here.

Name : The Portal

The Muse
Whilst the human was in deep sleep, I entered his complex mind, dragging out his consciousness so we could have a proper talk. He looked startled at first, and began questioning me so much that I couldn't answer him. I attempted to calm him down by telling him that I knew his ambitions of discovering the unknown weirdness that existed in this universe, but suggested that he could look further than that. I handed him some information I'd gathered on dimensions and other things thousands of years ahead of human knowledge. I advised that with this information, he should create a portal that could take him anywhere in the multiverse. Before I knew it, he woke in his mortal body and began preparing his basement. Humans are so stupid! He has no idea what's coming his way...

The Traumatised
My good friend, who I hadn't heard from in a while, phoned my landline unexpectedly. I answered it and instantly heard an excited voice screaming the words 'I've had a breakthrough!' from the other end. I listened to his plan and came over instantly. This was a breakthrough! We could study beings no one has even heard of before. It took us a couple of years, but we finally completed it. Although, as we were trying for a test run with a dummy, I was nearly sucked in. But I didn't have to be. My head went through, and I saw everything. I refused to continue to take part, and I pleaded for him to destroy it. Yet, he didn't and threw me out. The end of the world is close. I know it.

The Curious
I was having an argument with myself. F told me what he saw, that it was evil, but it couldn't be! My muse told me it would astonish billions, not destroy billions! Still, he was my good friend, so I decided to do some research. After a few restless nights of investigation, I realised that F was right. If this machine was turned on to its full potential, the entire world would perish. My muse lied to me! He lied about everything! I was terrified. If he got his hands on these plans, he could cause the end of the world! I had to give it to someone I trusted, but someone who wouldn't understand it. Then, someone popped into mind. My brother.

The Criminal
I walked towards the dirty old shed-like house, the moon giving it a gloomy lighting. My brother — the brother I haven't heard from in almost fifteen years — had called me and told me to meet him as soon as possible, so I came right away. It wasn't like I had anywhere else to go, being banned in thirty-two states in America. I knocked twice to be met with the tired mess of my brother. He had giant bags under his eyes and an obvious look of fear spreading across his face. He pulled me inside, taking me by the hood my jacket down to the basement.

The Lost
I held his shoulders so he stood in front of me and told him that I needed him to take care of the plans and that he should go as far away as possible. My brother didn't seem to take it all that well. Couldn't he see?! If he didn't look after these papers, the entire world would perish! He threw them to the ground in pure rage and began pushing me. I was weaker than him, meaning I was defenceless. All of a sudden, my back hit the lever and I slowly began to levitate. I couldn't see his face properly, but I imagined it looked smug and pleased. A moment later, I was sucked into the unknown.

The Regretful
He called me for the first time in fifteen years to give me a piece of nerd paper and ask to never see me again?! After all this time, after not speaking with one another for what felt like an eternity and all he wanted to do was shoo me away! I got mad. Really mad. I pushed him — pathetically at first, but then continued, getting harder and harder. All the while I was saying about how he was being selfish and heartless, yet all he mumbled was how I don't understand. It got to the point where we'd moved all the way across the room. So caught up in my anger at him, I didn't realise as the giant machine turned on behind him, seemingly reducing gravity in the area. I called out his name, but the whirring was too loud. Before I knew it, everything went silent and I fell to the ground.

End

Probably not grammar checked but I don't really want to. I'm only publishing this because I was looking through my old drafts and thought I might as well.
