How is Jolly asimilar to Lavaughn?

How are the two girls different?

In this story clearly are two opposites way, pretty different that show us an scenery complicated.

In one side, the author let us know a story of a girl named Jolly, who her attitudes show us that is a girl who has had shortcomings and a hard life. So young, probably only 17,  with two little children and alone, she need help o take care of them and at the same time provide them a home and food. I try to imagine how tough can be stay in her shoes.

In another side its LaVaughn, who want to reach her goals studying and working to pay her school, helping her mom with that and making a big effort to make it good, and knowing that pushing harder in this moment of her life it will bring her satisfactions later.

We have two different ways to think, to raise and different ways to plan the future, opposite one of the other, but sensitives in equal way to give us something to think about, and knowing that a false step can change everything.
