I glanced upward, and immediately regretted it. I was met with a horrifying face, standing above me. I gave a twitch as I stared into its eyes. They seemed unblinking, like they had no eyelids, and a smile was carved into his face, seemingly with a knife. But as soon as he appeared, he was gone.
I quickly blamed it on my medication, and got up and started to move. I didn't think that I could head home this soon, I had no idea where my father went. After my sister's death, he's been blaming me for everything that goes wrong. I soon broke into a run, wanting to get away from that...thing. I, for some reason, doubted that I was just hallucinating. It felt far to real. I shivered at the thought of his pale skin, which was practically white, and his insanely creepy "smile."
He haunted me, in the back of my brain, for the next 30 minutes, as I just ran. I hardly even felt weary at the point that I stopped. Despite the fact that I was so far away, it felt like I was being watched. My ears began to ring as I hesitated on one point, and I twisted around, quickly forcing it to go away. This while encounter was scaring me, and 8 had no idea why it was all happening to this weird, twitching and cracking freak. My life had changed, like a flip of a switch.
Finally, the ringing was gone, and I headed away from the large wood, since it had done nothing but bad things to me. I kept thinking I heard voices, but they never seemed like they were talking to me, and I would always realize it was just the rustling of the leaves.
I spotted two men in the wood, and quickly realized they were the voices I was hearing. I watched as one of them sliced a tree with a hatchet, causing it to fall down, and got this weird feeling in my chest. It almost felt like I had an urge to hurt these men, but I shook it off. My sister wouldn't want that.
But for some reason, I did.
