I remember my mother telling me about the day I was born. She described the trees outside of her Hospital window as a beautiful rustic gold. She said that the leaves shivered as the wind blew them off their wooden homes. The hospital walls echoed with people rushing to their next destination. Suddenly the microphone buzzed "Patient 10-4 to the front desk, Patient 10-4 to the front desk." Everything slowly mixed together into a cold, metallic symphony. The lights began to seem dim as she was slowly swept asleep.

"Mrs. Valenar? Mrs. Valenar? It's time to wake up." The nurse desperately tried to get her up.

"Hmmmm..." My mother grunted in exhaustion. It was the first time she was able to get some shut eye after giving birth to me. The nurse tried again "Mrs. Valenar please wake up, I have your daughter with me and she would love to meet you." And that was all it took, she opened her eyes and whirled around faster than a jet at full speed. The nurse, slightly startled, handed me over to her. I looked up at her, my mouth hanging open with slobber dripping down my chin. She just smiled at me, she said that I was able to fill the room with warmth even on the coldest day of fall.

The Doctor opened the door, my father peeping in from behind him. "Mrs. Valenar is it? Your husband was quite persistent on seeing you" the doctor stated with a matter-of-fact type of voice. She said that he probably thought he was better than everyone else because he has papers that other people don't have. My father rushed in, still wearing his messy old lab coat. His eyes were teary as he hugged my mother and kissed my peach fuzzed head.

The Doctor chimes in " Charlie Valenar and Sahara Valenar, Correct?" My mother and father shook their heads while still gleaming at their newest creation. The Doctors pride was hurt, after all he was used to being the source of attention, my mother exclaimed cheerfully.

"Your daughter was born at 2:47 Am On October 1st, year 2094. She is considered to be healthy despite you refusing genetic editing, although that still is a choice for an additional fee." The Doctor mumbles.

My father "No, no genetic variations will be made."

Doctor "Alright.. last step is her birth certificate, what will be her name? I can give you time if nee- "

Mother "Frey, her name will be Frey Valenar"

The Doctor looks at her in disbelief that she cut him off, he huffs out a sour "alright then" and walks out with my new name created.
