Secrets are like a volcano. The molting lava under the surface slowly starts to get hotter and hotter with every second passing. Until one day, it explodes. The scorching red-orange liquid bursting out with flames and black soot, and all you're left with is fear and guilt.

I turn my fork in circles, hearing the clinking on the Porcelain dish. Today's supper was American Chop Suey, Garlic bread, and a tall glass of water. None of my food was touched, as the butterflies in my stomach turn to moths. My mouth was long dried up, and my heart wanted to break out of my body.

Today was the day I would tell my family my secret.
The secret that I've been holding in for years.

"Mom, dad." I said slowly. They raise their heads simultaneously. Mom was a dirty blonde with a lanky body. The only big things she had were her D Cup breasts, which weirdly fit her frame. Her Sapphire eyes didn't match my dad's brown ones.

"Yes, dear?" My mom spoke.

"I have something to tell you. . ." I felt my throat starting to close up, my body's attempt to try to stop and restrict what I'm going to say next.

"I don't. . . feel like myself." I continued.

"What do you mean?" My father mumbled, his deep voice sounding like he was growling.

I took a deep breath. I didn't know what was going to happen but I knew they weren't going to be enthusiastic about it. I knew my parents; They lived by the bible.
An awkward silence grew through-out the room as I fiddle with my fingers. I glance to my right to see James staring at me. Curiosity sparkled in his eyes, but I know he knew.

He was just afraid to admit it.

"I'm transgender."

And that's when things started to fall apart for me.
