I woke up to the sound of my alarm ringing in my ears. '7.30AM' it read. "Ugh." I groaned and rolled over, burying my head back in the pillow. "Harper!" Mom shouted from downstairs. My eyes stayed glued shut. "Harper!!" she shouted again, getting closer. I groaned again and opened my bright, blue eyes. My door burst open as my mom stormed into my room. "It's 7.40AM Harper! You need to get up. You start your new school in 20 minutes!" I nodded and rolled out of bed. Mom exited the room and I stared at myself in the mirror. I brushed my blonde hair out of it's tangled mess and tied it up in a messy bun. I sighed and sat down at my dressing table. I did my usual morning makeup routine :

I flung my white handbag over my back and tied my laces on my Converse. I took one last glance in the mirror and applied some more lipstick. 'I'm ready. I can do this' I thought to myself. Closing the door behind me, I ran down the stairs and into the kitchen where my mom was preparing breakfast. I shoved a pancake into my mouth and downed a glass of orange juice. "Thanks Mom." I mumbled, my mouth full of food. I grabbed my phone from my pocket and started flicking through Instagram. I gave my mom a kiss on my cheek and slammed my front door behind me as I left.
As I walked down the street, the fresh morning's breeze swept my blond hair out of it's original bun and into a tangled mess. I grabbed the scrunchie from my head and pulled it into a ponytail. My fingers were sore from flicking through social media and my eyes started to ache. I was about to put my phone into my back pocket when a text popped up on my screen :
From : Bestie😘💕 Message : Hey gurl! I'm outside the school, I'll meet you there. See you soon babe! Love ya, -J Xx
I smile down at my phone as I quickly text a reply :
To : Bestie😘💕 Message : Hey! I'm almost there! See you soon, love you tooo💓-H Xx
Josie had been my best friend for as long as I can remember. Our moms were best friends too so it worked out perfectly. We was in the same class as me in school, and we both moved to this new school together so it's her first day too. I haven't seen her in 2 weeks which is the longest we've been apart. I can't wait to see her again. I've missed her!
The sun shone in the sky as I pulled my sunglasses out of my bag and put them on. I could see the school now, it was large and had many windows. Hundreds of kids gathered around the gates and the yards, filling it like people at a concert. I couldn't see Josie just yet though. As I got closer, I could see her red hair in the crowd. She could stand out from anywhere with her Ariel locks.
