BBQ night

You've kinda forgotten about Jason eg. you've moved on
You're working in a café , manager
You've moved house and live in a small cozy apartment near the coast (I know you use to live near the sea but like idk )
You're single oof
You're still friends with Jason's old friends bc it's a small town

You got up as usual.
Shower & breakfast blah blah
And left for work.

At your lunch break you get a text
'' (Y/n) , bbq Grill at 7.30 on the beach , be there

You didn't really mind it but you still had work until 10 plus you have you lock up since you're the manager
You called your boss and asked if you could take an hour break and she allowed if you took an extra hour next week

7.30 couldn't have come sooner
You almost forgot but your set alarm saved you
You grabbed your purse and phone and left your bag
( the bbq was on the beach right infront of the café)

It's quite dark outside but you can see your friends a few meters down the beach
There's the bbq grill and a bunch of chairs surrounding a fire
A few friends come over to greet you and embrace you with a hug
You settle down by the fire not noticing the huge figure on the other side staring at you.

" (y/n) do you want anything to drink?"
"Mm just a can of  (y/f/d) , thanks"

You watch your friends get up and walk over to a table behind the fire and that's when you saw him.

Damn she still looks the same , no even better , she aged like fine wine
Looking at her not notice me made my heart ache.

Her voice is still the same, a bit more mature but damn sexy as fuck

He looks so different but also the same. His face shape is the same but he grew a beard and grew his hair out and damn he's ripped.
He's looking at me too.

You don't know how you feel right now.
You freeze.
Your heart beats hard.
You thought all your feelings for him had left but they clearly have not.
You felt all your feelings flooding back and you felt overwhelmed.
All you wanted to do in that second was to hug and kiss him but you knew you couldn't.
You got up in an instant and started to speed walk towards the bbq and immediately slapped your friend on the arm

" WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME"
" huh ? What"
"GOSH WHY DIDNT YOU TELL ME JASON CAME HERE"
"Oh yeah oops I forgot"

You didn't know what to do.
The first thought was to go back to work so you did.
You grabbed your stuff and left.

You started working again and tried to process everything.
Why was he here?
I thought he said he'd never come back
When did he come back?
How long would he stay for?

It's near the end of the day 9:45.
All the customers have gone but a few staff are still here.
It's your job to clean and lock up.
The other staff leaves and you hear the bell on the door ring but you didn't really mind it because you thought it was just them leaving but then you heard

You froze.
You turn around to see Jason standing there , hands in pockets , looking cute as fuck
You don't know how to feel.
But your first instinct was to get mad as some sort of wall to not show how vulnerable you are
You are not going to let him get to you.

"Sorry but we're closed."

You continued to clean the tables trying your best to not make eye contact.
You heard him chuckle knowing that he didn't get your message.

"What do you want  J ?"
"I just want to talk, you know.. catch up"

You gave in.
But you were sure not to let your guard down.
Ok maybe a little

"Fine , 5 minutes that's all you get"

You watch him pull out a chair and sit.
You follow.

He's staring at you but more like gazing.

"So I see your doing well huh?"

"Em yeah I guess I don't know"

You could see the guilt in his eyes.
Reminding him of the last night you were together.

"You know , Game of Thrones or Frontier?"
"Yeah hows all that working for ya?"

You knew you were being mean but what was he expecting ?

"Whatever Jason"

You got up and headed over to the sink.
Swinging your hips a bit dramatically knowing that he's watching.
You heard him get up out of his chair and lean on the counter.

"You know (y/n) , I really regret leaving you.."

This got you mad.
You threw down the plate you were washing

"NO YOU DONT, ARE YOU KIDDING ME ?
you literally have everything, dont lie to me"

"I'm not lying, I would give everything up right now just to go back to the way we were"

"The way we were ? You mean 6 years ago ? You mean when you literally gave up me and everything that you had ? And now you're saying this , ugh I cant believe you"

"I'm sorry okay?"

"No it's not okay, Jason when you left, you broke my heart and all you left me was a dumbass note"

Jason went quite.
You could see you really hurt him.
You kinda put him on blast but you don't care

"I'm sorry okay there's nothing I can change about the past, can we meet up again? You know maybe somewhere you don't work at?"

"Okay, okay good , lets do it"

A huge smile appeared on his face

"Great."
" how about this weekend ? I'll pick you up at 6.30"

"Sounds good"
—
You watch Jason smile and walk over to you
He places a small kiss on your forehead before leaving his number on the counter and heading through the door.
