Chad, Tom, Alice, Selene, and I were anticipating the end of school. It was Friday, and everybody wanted to go home. Including the teacher, who also wanted to go home. We all were tired of our day. Mathematics was the very first subject of the day. The last subject was History.
"Hey Wren!"
That's my name, Wren Seeds. What? My name is not that funny isn't it?
"Yo, what is it Chad?"
"This class is boring isn't it?" he whispered.
I told him that it was very boring, and it reminded me of a teacher's drawn out lecture. I am seriously not joking.
"Ah. Okay, well that is what I was thinking," Chad shrugged as if he kind of liked the class.
Mrs. Figueroa gave out handouts about the history of Sandy Village. A small village that is in the country. No, not the country of United States, which is the country that we are in. I meant in the countryside. Yeah, it is very secluded. "Make sure you read them students. It is very important!" she shouted dramatically. I turned around to my friend Tom, who looked spooked. So, I decided to call up 'The Rugrat Squad'. Cool name, huh?
After class, me and my friends decided to walk home to Chad's house. You can it call our main hangout spot....sometimes. While we were walking, Tom came up to me, and told me something quite expecting. "During class, Ash was giving me the death glare. It was all creepy! I swear he wanted to murder me!" he recounted.
Fear was basically spitting out of his mouth. Ash is some what of a cool, but creepy kid. He sits by himself in class, mumbling to himself. Unsurprisingly, Ash didn't seem to have any friends. He is usually seen carrying a knife for some reason. "What a loner," are what many of the school kids think.
But, since I am the leader; the bravest of us five children I shouted, "Not to worry Tom!", while clapping his back, grinning, "That kid may be creepy, but I'm sure he wouldn't hurt a fly!" I lied. That was a lie! Seriously! In all seriousness, let me tell you something about how we all met, and how the Rugrat Squad came about. Origin story time! Hiyaaa!
First of all, I am brave, loyal, honest, and kind. Did I mention that I'm sarcastic at times? I am very handsome, with having black, spiky hair. A clump of hair falling in front of my right eye. Look like an emo! Yup! That's how I look. Fight me! Also, I have amber eyes. Those are the reasons for girls falling for me, and boys wanting to be like me. Man, they're obsessed! I also can be serious, level-headed, stoic, and a no-nonsense person, when the time was right. Then, I met Selene Carson. She's an adventurous person, very athletic, and kinda cute. Curly, messy, bright red hair, with a long, curly cowlick sticking upwards on her head. Selene got the freckles all over her face, and the green eyes. She can be very outspoken when she needs to, but overall a friendly person. Up next is Alice Shuberg, who is a very shy person. With sandy blonde hair in pigtails, big blue eyes, and a petite girl, she seems even cuter! That doesn't mean I have a crush on her! I met both of them in 1st grade. How I met Tom Mendez, I first met him in 2nd grade. Brown hair, bangs above his brown eyes. He also has a scar on his cheek. Cute! He was being bullied by the bigger kids, so I 'stood' up for him. What I mean by that, I mean I beat the crap out of them. Yup! Good friend. We became good friends, after that. I already knew Chad Heimler. We were best friends, since kindergarten. Best friends forever! BFFL-Best Friends For Life. If you were wondering I made up that term. He's the smartest of the group, in contrast to Selene's brawn, Alice's shyness, Tom's cowardliness, and my snarkiness. Is that even a word?
Anyways, besides from that, he's the kindest of the group, and very well-meaning. For a 12-year old, he can play the piano, and violin professionally! I did not want to lose my alliance, with him. I was attached to him. Losing him is like losing my life. Nor would I want to lose anyone. That platinum blonde hair, his gray eyes, his nice forehead. I love him. In 2nd grade, I made everyone greet each other. We all became good friends, we became the 'Rugrat Squad'. Because, we were a bunch of rugrats. Chad thought of that name. It was clever.
