7:45 AM, Jackson High
Violet Brown weaved her way through the chilly and crowded hallways of Jackson High, surrounded by students.
Jocks such as Adam Maxim and his cronies ran through, pushing less fortunate kids around, smacking papers and books. Kids were huddled together, trying to keep warm, looking up at the menacing jocks.
Violet managed to reach the back section of the school, to the large chorus room and band rooms.
There were drama, chorus and band students were scattered about, talking, singing, reading, drinking coffee and what not in the sacred back hall as she approached a circle of boys; the president of the band; Jacob Pontmerci and his Vice President Matt Crowe. With them were fellow musicians and chorus students, Brandon, Tom, Jordan, John, Russell, Billy, Wes, Petey, William, Casey and Ben. Ben always was wearing something blue whether it was a bandanna (which normally it was) or a shirt and Violet never really knew why.
"Good Morning, Mademoiselle." Jacob nodded, kissing Violet's hand.
She smiled. "Well, if it isn't the Frenchman!"
"Ah, yes, c'est moi, le Frenchiest of them all!" Jacob laughed goofily, giving a silly accent.
Matt nudged him. "Adam Maxim, three 'o' clock."
The group looked over to see Adam had migrated with his friends to the back halls and began smacking down the coffees and books people had.
Jacob groaned, anger rising in his throat.
"This needs to stop."
"It's terrible." Violet softly agreed.
"We should do something!" Matt growled, lunging forward
"Patience, mon ami." Jacob said, putting a hand on Matt's shoulder. "They will get their payback."
"Will they?" Matt challenged, becoming furious.
Violet could see the passion in his eyes and it made her heart flutter. Heartthrob Matt Crowe had been her crush since the second grade. But he never saw her as anything else except a friend.
8:00 AM, Jackson High's Main Conference Room
"I think we should expand the music programs and-" Mr. Larrabee firmly declared to the music teachers, school officers, Dean of Students and Vice Principal of the school.
His rant was cut off by the phone ringing. He grunted and answered it.
"Hello? Mr. Buttons! What a surprise... What?.... What do you mean?.... Immediately?.. Very well. Yes.....I will. Right away.....Good Day."
Mr. Larrabee looked up, revealing a shocked expression on his hardly moved face.
"Mrs. Hankmen , Mr. Jensen , I'm afraid you have to be let go." He said quietly. "Please leave."
The music teachers were in shock, but got up and quietly left.
"John, what about the students?" The Dean asked.
"I'll make an announcement. And their schedules are to be changed as soon as possible." Mr. Larrabee explained. He pressed the button to make an announcement just as the bell for first period rang.
8:01 AM, Back Music Hall
"Where's Mr. Jensen?" Brandon asked, peering into the dark band room.
