Colby's pov

Sam, Y/n, and I were in the car on our way to explore a haunted and abandoned hospital. It was Y/n and I in the front, jamming to Panic! At The Disco while Sam was in the back with his earbuds in because he hates this kind of music. I was driving but every once in a while I would look over at her. She was looking out the window, singing her lungs out. She looked really cute. Everything she does is cute. Her outfit made her look extra cute though. She was wearing a twenty one pilots shirt, with black ripped skinny jeans, and some red Nike's. Y/n wasn't really big on makeup so she didn't have any on but she still looked amazing. Did I mention that I really like her?

We pulled up to an empty parking lot. It was already starting to get dark, and we still had to find the way in.

"I read that if we jump the fence and go to the back of the building, there's a loose board over a window that comes off easily. We climb through, and we'll be good but it is very dark, even in the daytime, so grab the flashlights." Sam said.

The wind blew as Y/n walked towards the trunk and I saw her shiver. She was only wearing short sleeves so she would only get colder. She opened the trunk to get the flashlights and we stayed in the front examining the fence to see where we can jump over.

When she circled back around she had my plain black take chances hoodie on. It was big on her but it made her look even cuter than she already did. I was just staring at her when she said something.

"Sorry?" I asked.

"I said, I was cold and I forgot to bring my hoodie so I'm borrowing yours. I can put it back if you want." She said.

"No it's fine. Keep it if you want." I said.

"Ready? I found a way in." Sam interrupted. We nodded and followed him to the lowest part of the gate.

Y/n was shorter than us so she couldn't get over the fence easily. She couldn't touch the top like Sam and I so I grabbed her hips and hoisted her up. She grabbed the top and hoisted herself up and over. When she hit the ground she turned around and waited for us. Sam threw his bag and the camera over and we made our way up.

Y/n's pov

When we got to the back of the building we started pulling on the boards to see which one was the loosest. The first one I pulled on came off easily and we made our way inside. The window was a little higher up and I couldn't get my leg up far enough so Colby grabbed my waist and lifted me up for the second time today. I blushed so thank god we were in the dark.

"Where do we wanna go first?" Sam asked.

"I don't care as long as we go to the morgue at some point." I said. I was really excited to see the morgue.

"Let's just go floor by floor and we'll get to what we can." Colby suggested and we all agreed. We climbed to the top floor. It was the psych ward. It was really dark and hard to see. I had a flashlight but I wanted to save the battery so I stayed close enough to the boys that I could see with theirs. Colby stopped suddenly and I ran into his back, hard enough to knock me down. We all started laughing and Sam walked into a patient room.

Colby put his hand out to help me up. I grabbed it and pulled myself up, except we didn't let go. We stared into each others eyes with the light he dropped while laughing. We started leaning in but then Sam came in and ruined the moment. We jumped apart when Sam started talking.

"Alright, there's really nothing on this level but-" He was cut off by a loud crash from a couple rooms down. It was really loud and it scared me and I started shaking.

"W-what was t-that?" I asked, my stutter taking over.

Colby's pov

"I don't know. Sounded like a door." Sam said. I heard her stutter when she asked what the noise was so I turned around to make sure she was ok but when I turned around I noticed she was shaking. I put my hand on her upper arm and whispered that it was gonna be ok and it was probably just the wind. She instantly calmed down when I mentioned the wind.

"Yeah, your probably right. Just the wind." She whispered the last part to herself like she was trying to convince herself. She sighed and continued walking, me and Sam following.

It had already been 4 hours and we were just making it down to the basement, where the morgue is but before we reached the room, we heard a blood-curdling scream and a gunshot right after. Y/n jumped and ran to my side. She wrapped her arms around me and started shaking again. I brought her closer and tried to calm down her breathing so whoever was in here, didn't know that we were here.

"We need to get out of here." Sam stated the obvious.

"Yeah no duh." I said. I grabbed Y/n's hand and made a run for it, Sam right behind us. Right as we ran out the window, I heard yelling. I grabbed Y/n and held her up so she could get over the fence. We all got over and we ran to the car. Y/n hopped in back and me and Sam got in the front, me driving. As I drove away, I looked in the rear view mirror and saw tears still streaming down Y/n's face, silently crying.

"You ok?" I asked. She nodded her head and wiped her tears away but I could tell that she was not ok.

"It'll be ok." I said. She just looked at me and chewed on her lip. Sam pulled into the nearest gas station to just go over what had happened. We talked about it and all decided it would be best to call the police and tell them what we heard.

"We could have died." Y/n said.

"Yeah, but we didn't. That's all that matters. You're ok, I'm ok, and Sam is ok." I said, not only reassuring her but myself as well.

"I'm sorry." She said.

"For what?" I asked.

"For freaking out." She answered.

"We were all freaking out, you just did it out loud." I replied. We all looked forward when we saw police cars going by, their lights flashing and sirens blaring. There had to be at least 8 of them.

"Do you think somebody actually got hurt?" Sam asked.

"I think at this point, that question answers itself." Y/n said.

We did our intro and put all of the camera stuff in the trunk. We went into the gas station and got a couple snacks for the drive home.

When we got back in the car, I was driving and Y/n was next to me. You could tell that she was still thinking about what happened as I was driving. I reached over and layed my hand on her leg, giving it a reassuring squeeze. She looked at me and gave me a small smile before laying her hand on top of mine. She layed her head against the window and fell asleep.
