Kennedy's POV

I stayed close to the dropship door as everyone began to run around the clearing like wild animals. It seemed scary, all this green and nature, and the dropship was like a safety net, everything I knew was dark and metal. Taking a death breath, I took a few steps forward, and then a few more, and then a few more, until I was running around like everyone else from the Ark. However, something caught my eye that stopped me. Bellamy Blake was stood, simply observing everyone. I don't know why but I drifted towards him and before I knew it, I was right in front of him.

"Hey," I said quietly, smiling.

"Hey," he said shortly, but after a few seconds his face softened. "Wait, are you the girl that tried to help Octavia escape when she was caught?"

I nodded sheepishly, remembering the day of last year's Unity Day dance. He smiled brightly at me.

"I can't thank you enough for what you did for my sister. You risked everything, just to help a complete stranger." He kept smiling at me and I uncomfortably smiled back. "What's your name?"

"Kennedy. Kennedy Kershaw," I introduced myself, holding my hand out for him to shake, which he did so whilst chuckling.

"Well, I'm Bellamy Blake," he introduced back and I stopped myself from saying 'I know'.

Before I got the chance to reply, Clarke and Wells came over, interrupting us.

"We need to figure out where we are," Wells instructed, pointing to the map in Clarke's hand.

"We're on the ground, isn't that good enough for you?" Bellamy argued back. The loud conversation was beginning to catch people's attention.

"We need to find Mount Weather. You heard my father's message, that has to be our first priority," he spoke with authority. Although I did agree with Wells, bringing his father up was a big mistake considering we were all the kids he decided to lock up and send to die.

"Screw your father," Octavia spoke, joining us. She smiled at me, clearly remembering me which made me smile in return. She then turned back to Clarke and Wells. "What, you think you're in charge here? You and your little princess."

"Do you think we care who's in charge? We need to get to Mount Weather, not because the Chancellor said so, but because the longer we wait, the hungrier we'll get and the harder this will be. How long do you think we'll last without those supplies? We're looking at a 20 mile trek, OK? So, if we want to get there before dark, then we need to leave, now!" Clarke spoke up. What she was saying made sense but these people didn't listen to rationality, they listened to what they wanted. We're not on the Ark anymore, and they are all too aware of that.

"Here's an idea, you two go. Get the supplies for us. Let the privileged do the work for a change," Bellamy suggested and cheers sounded.

"But isn't she one of the privileged. Her parents are Jaha's advisers," someone shouted, referencing me. I tensed but Bellamy looked at me as if to reassure me.

"She's different. She's one of us," he spoke and people listened. Bellamy is standing up for me? Why? I was expecting him to send me off with Clarke and Wells or that he didn't know my parents but him protecting me was not what I expected.

"They can't go with 2 people Bellamy. They won't be able to carry enough for everyone," I told him but quiet enough so only a few people could hear.

"That's why I'm going as well." Finn appeared from the top of the dropship, standing next to Clarke and Wells.

"And we'll take these two," Finn grabbed Monty and Jasper's collars, who had been stood right behind Clarke and Wells the whole time.
